  5B  Quantifiers
Aims: To review and practise a range of different
quantifiers.
Time: 10–15 minutes
Materials: One handout for each student

Exercise 1
• Give each student a handout and ask them to choose
the correct quantifiers to complete the sentences in
exercise 1. Remind them to look carefully at the noun
after each gap and to think about whether it is plural or
singular, countable or uncountable. Check answers with
the class.

Exercise 2
• Students complete the text with the correct quantifiers.
Students can work on this exercise in pairs and then

Exercise 3
• Students try to make an increasingly long sentence
by adding quantifiers and more nouns. Ask different
students to read out the example sentences and check
that they understand how the game works. Then divide
students into groups of three or four to play the game.
