1 SCOPE OF WORK
This method statement deals with the conduits – roughing ins; wire & cable pulling (including
terminations); lightings & wiring devices; testing in preparation for installing of electrical
wirings. It includes preparation and installation of safety barricades for proper stockpile of
electrical materials, Offset and Fittings for IMC and PVC pipes, and other preparation for the
activity.

3 WORK METHODOLOGY
3.1 Conduit Roughing Ins

a. Ensure corresponding documents and permits before start of activity


such as work requests, checklists, construction schedules, and
handovers.

b. Owner supplied pipes and conduits shall be poly-vinyl-chloride (PVC)


schedule 40 for embedded conduits and intermediate metallic conduit
(IMC) for exposed pipes.

c. No conduits shall be used in any system smaller than 15mm (1/2 inch)
in diameter and shall have no more than four 90-degrees bend in any
one run wherein if necessary to provide pull boxes as directed.

d. All exposed pipes, conduits, boxes and flexible metal conduits shall be
pre-painted with primer paint prior to installation.

e. Exposed pipes, cable trays and raceways shall be secured by means of


metal clips hangers and supports and shall be held in place by machine
screws and expansion sleeves or fasteners. Exposed conduits shall run
straight parallel or at right angles with the surrounding walls.

f. All PVC prefabricated conduit-bends shall be done by the use of blow


torch or by using commercial available fittings

g. All materials shall be hauled toward the designated work areas.

h. Slab / Concrete topping embedded PVC conduits shall be fixe-in-place


with the corresponding boxes after installation of bottom re-bars for
slabs / concrete topping.

i. All PVC conduits shall be connected to each other and to fittings by


means of PVC solvent cement, making sure that ends to be connected
shall be cleaned and free of dust or moisture before application of
solvent cement.

j. All boxes for outlets and switches shall be concealed and be provided
by suitable hub fittings designed to receive the wiring devices as to the
nature of its usage and the number of wires for each devices.

k. Pull boxes and other outlets inter- connections boxes shall conform to
the minimum size or dimensions suitable to receive the corresponding
number of wires by sizes, shall be painted epoxy-gray finish, mounted
and fastened in accordance with the standard hangers and supports.

l. All Metallic boxes (junction, square and pull boxes shall be fix-in-place
to the conduits by means of equal size locknut and bushing for
embedded and exposed conduits.

m. All hangers and support for the IMC shall be installed with a minimum
distance of 1.2m. Ensure that the deflection does not exceed 5mm mid
span of support when fully loaded

n. Anchor bolt shall be installed in a concrete slab 3/8 inch diameter full
threaded rod shall be installed to each anchor bolt. Ensure that the
deflection does not exceed 5mm mid span of support when fully
loaded.

o. All exposed conduitsboxesshall be pre-painted with primer paint prior to


installation.

p. Install Ga. 16 GI pull wires to all installed empty pipes and conduits

q. Clean surrounding work areas.

3.2 Chipping works

a. Identify the spot for drilling

b. Use marking as guild line for grinding

c. Chip out a U’ shaped slot completely circling the pipe.

d. Remove all loose materials and thoroughly clean the surface of the
concrete to the pipe.

e. Install the embedded PVC Pipe

f. After installing the PVC, clean the area and restore.

I. Inspections

The execution of work will strictly follow the project quality procedure.

a. Work permit and inspection test plan

b. Visual Inspection of the materials used, locations and details in the


approved plan used.

8 RESPONSIBILITIES
Identify key staff involved in the management / control of the work process and briefly
describe their responsibilities.

8.1 ECC. QAQC/PIC – Routes the Work Request (WAP) part to different trades and
ensure to complete the signatures of the related trade. To Conducts progress work
inspection and testing at project site (Refer on approved Inspection Test Plan (ITP)
and Ensure to comply Quality Control requirements).

8.2 ECC SO – To ensure that workers are equipped with complete PPE’s and with safe
working environment. To orient workers with safety precautions.

8.3MDCBP SO/SS – To ensure pre-activity requirement/orientation has been


completed. To check and Inspect safety of work as per Safety standards.

8.4MDCBP F.E. – Review work activity and coordinate conflict with the other trades (if
any). Ensure WAP has been routed and signed by all related trades. To Check and
Inspect the quality of work based on the approved ITP and Inspection checklist.
Ensures the acceptable Quality of work.

8.5MDCBP PS – To verify the completeness and quality of work done and


recommends the approval of the work activity.

8.6 MDCBP PIC – To ensure all quality control requirements are complied and
approved the submitted Work Request (WR).

8.7 MDCBP QA/QC – To ensure PATOQ completed prior to start of any activity. Ensure
compliance of the work activity with regards to approved submittals, process and
controls. Review and verify compliance of work with regards to quality requirements.
To approved Work Request only if the activity complies with Quality Assurance &
Control requirements.
