Ib English Final Reflection
Ib English Final Reflection
We were supposed to
create a Crash Course video and show the product in class. I filmed myself talking about the
Bible and why it was related to literature. I’ve read a total of 13 books for the course, and there
were other stories and poems we went over as well. I learned different topics, subtopics, literary
devices, and how to analyze a passage as a whole. To be quite frank, I never thought I would
achieve so many things in this class alone. I’ve been open-minded ever since junior year
because I felt it was important to take notes about anything that would help me throughout the
course. I enjoyed certain novels in class: The Color Purple, The Elephant Vanishes, Kite Runner,
Slaughterhouse-Five, The Great Gatsby, Persepolis, and Morning in the Burned House. In
addition, I’m most proud of my HL essay because I actually had fun and enough time to finish
it. Likewise, I never thought I would enjoy reading and analyzing poems. I also learned how to
this class was The Color Purple – I loved how beautiful the ending was. IB Literature definitely
taught me how to think critically and expand my thought process. I was able to tell other people
about my opinions and/or agree with them as well. I believe that every student should know how
to think for themselves and make their own decisions. In my senior year, I acknowledge that I’ve
grown a lot since junior year because I appreciate learning about literature.
