Product Description: Optinet® Demand Control Ventilation (DCV) System
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:
OptiNet® Demand Control Ventilation (DCV) System
Capture, sense and control… that's at the very heart of
the OptiNet system. This groundbreaking system captures
air samples from specific building locations and sends
these air samples to a centralized suite of sensors.
OPTINET
The OptiNet® patented system remotely takes air
samples throughout a building and sends them to the
centralized sensor suite. This constant measuring of
critical indoor environmental levels is the basis of
actionable information used by building ventilation
systems to adjust to changing conditions. This results in optimum energy efficiency and
increased Indoor Environmental Quality.
Bar-raising architecture
Capture, sense and control… that’s at the very heart of the OptiNet system. This
groundbreaking system captures air samples from specific building locations and sends these
air samples to a centralized suite of sensors. By using a single bank of high quality sensors,
the accuracy of the measurements increase while significantly lowering life cycle costs
associated with keeping the system accurately calibrated. The sensor data is routed to the
building ventilation controls to adjust ventilation rates based on “real time” information.
The issues of remote sensors solved
AirGenuity has solved the issues of traditional sensing systems by using centralized sensors.
Analyzing air samples with a single sensor generates a true differential measurement that
greatly increases system accuracy. That means higher quality sensors can be deployed to
measure more critical parameters that in turn reduces the number of sensors required. A
major benefit of this is the lowering of life cycle costs with our cost-effective scheduled
calibration service. As a result, you can rely on AirGenuity for accuracy and effectiveness…
now and for years to come.
OPTINET APPLICATION
With the OptiNet System from AirGenuity you don’t have to sacrifice occupant safety,
comfort or productivity to make your commercial facility’s ventilation more energy efficient.
AirGenuity’s smart, centralized suite of sensors can be set up for a wide variety of
applications and buildings.
OPTINET COMPONENTS
A wide range of a facility’s indoor environmental data is continuously being collected by the
OptiNet® system. First gathered from individual spaces and the air handler, air samples are
then sent to the Sensor Suite for analysis. Once analyzed, the results are communicated to
the Building Management System and airflow is adjusted to improve Indoor Environmental
Quality while reducing energy costs. In addition, the air sample data is also transmitted to the
web-based AirGenuity Knowledge Centre for archiving, review, and report generation.
OPTINET OPERATION
The OptiNet system provides “real time” monitoring and control of a facility’s ventilation by
the continuous collection of a variety of building environmental data. The Air Data Router
gathers air samples from different areas. These samples are then multiplexed through the
OptiNet network to be analyzed by the Sensor Suite. This analysis data is communicated to
your Building Management System, allowing you to control airflow that reduces energy costs
and improves Indoor Environmental Quality. It is also transmitted to the web-based
AirGenuity Knowledge Centre for archiving, review, and report generation.

DIVISION 3 – Concrete
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:
Cement is a binding agent that, when mixed with sand, stone or
other aggregates and water, produces either ready-
mix concrete or mortar.
PRODUCT PACKAGING: per sack
PRODUCT PREPARATION PROCEDURE:
In the wet process, the raw materials are mixed with water to
form slurry, which is fed into a kiln. Fuel costs are greater in the
wet process than in the dry process because the water that is
added to the raw materials to form slurry must be evaporated during the clinker
manufacturing process. The clinker is then cooled down, mixed with gypsum and fed in
specified proportions into a cement grinding mill where they are ground into an extremely
fine powder and mixed with grinding aids including admixtures (which control properties of
the concrete including plasticity, pumpability, freeze-thaw resistance, strength and setting
time) and other cement additives, which we produce or source from third parties, to produce
finished cement.
PRODUCT APPLICATION/INSTALLATION PROCEDURE:
Groundwork
Readymix Concrete should be laid on well compacted hardcore sub-base that has been
covered with a thin layer of sand and a layer of plastic sheeting. This prevents excessive
moisture loss from the concrete and acts as a damp proof membrane, when used in concrete
floors.
Estimating
You need, and obtain a “delivered price”, call your local sales office with details of the area to
be concreted and average thickness required. Other information e.g. slope, drainage and
accessibility may also be useful. Alternatively, you can calculate how much you need by using
Cemex concrete calculator
Clear site
Prepare the site carefully by removing stones and weeds plus a layer of top soil. Level off
bumps with a spade to create a flat surface
Formwork
This is the frame which will keep the concrete in place as it hardens. 25mm thick timber strips
are ideal. Nail them to wooden pegs driven into the ground at 1m intervals (on the outside of
the formwork). Lay plastic sheeting over the area, and weight with bricks or stones.
Setting a fall
Plan the slope to allow water to run off easily. Check the forms with a spirit level, and make
one side lower to allow drainage away from buildings. Normally allow about a 25mm drop for
a 1 metre run.
Joints
If the area you’re laying measures more than 4m in any direction, you’ll need to divide it into
sections. Also if it is less than 500mm wide, the length should be reduced to 3m. Lay joints of
softwood board about 10-12mm thick across the formwork, to the full depth of the slab, at
the required intervals. Support them with pegs that can be removed as each section is
completed. If your slab will adjoin an existing slab or building, make a joint between the two
with a strip of thick bituminous felt.
Spreading
Spread concrete between forms to a level 10mm to 15mm higher than the finished surface
Compact the concrete using a tamping beam
Levelling
With one person each end holding the tamping beam, lift approximately 100mm and then
drop into the concrete ensuring that each end of the beam is over the formwork
Level the concrete by ‘sawing’ the beam from side to side whilst advancing it slowly forward
Remove excess concrete with a rake/shovel
Level using rake to fill area 10-15mm higher than finished surface.
Compact with tamping beam.
Shuffle tamping beam from side to side to level.
Finishing
A tamped surface provides a rough low-slip finish suitable for drives, paths, external slabs
A wood or plastic float finish provides a smooth but textured low-slip finish suitable for paths,
garage and workshop floors
A steel float finish provides a very smooth finish suitable for house floors, ponds, etc.
A coarse brush finish is applied just prior to the concrete setting and is suitable for paths and
drives where a rough tamped surface may be unsightly.
PRODUCT DISPOSAL PROCEDURE:
Throwing away your old concrete is not a good idea. So what do you do with old and unused
concrete? What option will you choose to dispose of it?
Here are some concrete disposal options:
If you’re lucky, you’ll have access to a pickup truck. If not, then hire one. Be careful
while loading; make sure that you do not overload the vehicle because it will make it
heavy, which will cause the vehicle to fail or strain the engine severely.
You can consider contacting a building materials supply company- one who operate
large-scale operations along with a large fleet of a cement mixers or gravel-hauling
dump trucks- who may take your old concrete. Some of them do that free of charge,
hauling and unloading your concrete at their location.
Another good idea to dispose of your old concrete is to put a “free” sign beside your
pile of concrete, which may catch the eye of some concrete-needing passerby.
Although it sounds unusual, it’s worth a try.

DIVISION 4 – Masonry
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:
Concrete Hollow Blocks (CHB), are one of the most
extensively used walling materials in the Philippines.
Some of the reasons for this is their relative low cost
when compared to other materials and speed of
installation by semi-skilled labourers. CHB walls are
very weak against lateral loads (pushing or pulling
forces from typhoon or earthquake). Adding steel
reinforcing bars vertically and horizontally inside the
CHBs can increase their resistance to lateral loads.
PRODUCT PACKAGING: Per piece
PRODUCT PREPARATION PROCEDURE:
Done in two different ways
By weight or volume. The most common method is by volume (e.g. using a bucket).
Mixture
For CHBs: Mix Proportion 1:7, as per structural engineer’s specification.
Water
Clean water should be used. Shall not exceed 28 litres per 40 kilograms per bag of cement,
slump test (as per ASTM C-143) shall not exceed 10cm, unless specified by a structural
engineer.
Common CHB mix
½ bucket of water, 1 bucket of cement, 7 buckets of sand.
Common mortar mix
1 bucket of water, 1 bucket of cement, 5 buckets of sand
Mixing time
If batch mixer is used, use accurate timing and measuring devices to operate as per
manufacturer’s instructions. Revolutions should be between 14 and 20 per minute.
Curing
After being removed from the mould, the CHBs should be covered with a plastic sheet or
tarpaulin and kept damp and shaded for at least 7 days in order to effectively cure. This can
be achieved by continually spraying them with water or keeping them under water in tanks.
A good curing process leads to less cracking and a stronger, harder, denser and more durable
concrete.
PRODUCT APPLICATION/INSTALLATION PROCEDURE:
All concrete hollow block will be carried out in accordance with the specification and
Project Quality Plan.
Handling and Storage of Materials
Blocks shall be delivered to site palletized, off loaded as near to the point of use
as practicable on a clean hard surface free from contamination by mud or surface
water.
Cement shall be stored off the ground, kept dry and used in order of delivery.
Store metal ties and straps under cover and protect them from damage and
distortion.
Preparation of Work, Materials and Components
When the materials and components are distributed to the work area, ensure that
the structure is not overloaded.
Plan for scaffolding material required for block work at heights. Plan for
additional manpower for lifting blocks at heights.
Set out anticipating the position of openings etc. in the work above to avoid
unnecessary cutting and adjustment of masonry units leading to incorrect or uneven
bonding.
Preparation of Mortar Mixes
Mortar shall be mixed by machine except for small quantities only (not
containing plasticizer). Hand mixing (if permitted) may be done on a watertight
platform.
Use mortars (other than retarded mortars) within 2 hours of mixing or as
specified.
Laying of Concrete Hollow Blocks
Spread the mortar along the corner
Use your trowel to spread a few slabs of mortar around the corner's base of the
footing. Spread the mortar 1" deep and 8" wide in the marked area. Continue to
spread the mortar to account for the distance of about three to four blocks.
Rebar should be on-place whenever laying is on-going.
Set the corner block
It is important to lay the corner block down first. Again, use a corner block if
they're available. Setting the corner first will ensure an even dispersal of the rest
of the blocks.
Apply mortar to the side
Apply mortar to each side of the concrete block using your trowel. You'll need to
apply at least an inch to each side. Once applied, position the block in the desired
location. Try to align the corner to the string set up earlier. Don't apply mortar to
outer edge of the corner. Try not to leave any gaps when applying mortar, or it’ll
weaken the bond between the blocks.
Continue to lay the concrete blocks
Start laying blocks from the corner or edge of the wall so you can work in one
direction. Apply mortar at the end of the block before you place the block
adjacent to it.
Check the Alignment
Before stacking more concrete blocks on top of your initial foundation, check if
everything is aligned. Use your mason's level by laying it on the first set of blocks.
Check both the outside and center section of the bricks. Tap the blocks for any
alignment adjustments while the mortar is still wet. Do not try to move a block
after the concrete has set. Measure the length and height every two or three
layers.
Apply mortar to the top
Place the mortar 1 inch (2.5 cm) deep and use the same width as the width of the
block. You can then spread the mortar so it covers the length of about 3 blocks in
the direction that you are laying the blocks.
Stack the blocks
Lay the block down on top so the edge of the top block aligns with the halfway
mark of the bottom block. You'll recognize the pattern as a standard among the
construction sites. The top block will fit in between two bottom blocks.
Add reinforcement
If you built high walls, consider adding reinforcements. You can also use
reinforcements if the ground pressure on the site is not stable. Place the 1/4"
reinforcement rods into the openings with the ends overlapping about 2" or 3"
PRODUCT DISPOSAL PROCEDURE:
Step 1
Sort your concrete blocks into two categories: those that can be reused and those that
cannot. Concrete blocks that are chipped or broken should not be reused for building, but
they can still be recycled.
Step 2
Locate green contractors near you through the Green Contractor Guide (see Resources). Call
matching local contractors to see if they need cinder or concrete blocks for building projects.
If someone wants the blocks, arrange to have them removed. In this way, you don't have to
transport the blocks in your car for recycling, and you save resources because the blocks can
be reused in their current state without being processed.
Step 3
Find recycling centers near you that accept concrete blocks by going to Earth 911 (see
Resources). Enter your city or zip code in the location blocks and type "Concrete" in the
search bar. Then call matching recycling centers to find out when they are open. Load the
concrete blocks into your car or truck and drive them to the recycling center. Dispose of all
broken or subpar blocks in this manner, along with concrete blocks you can't give to a
contractor.

HOT ROLLED REINFORCING BAR (YIEH CORP.)
known when massed as reinforcing steel or
reinforcement steel, is a steel bar or mesh of steel
wires used as a tension device in reinforced
concrete and reinforced masonry structures to
strengthen and aid the concrete under tension.
Concrete is strong under compression but has weak
tensile strength. Rebar significantly increases the
tensile strength of the structure. Rebar's surface is often "deformed" with ribs, lungs or
indentations to promote a better bond with the concrete and reduce the risk of slippage.
PRODUCT PACKAGING:
Bundle Weight: about 3MT per bundle (uniform counting pcs)
12M / 9M Length rebar can be folded loaded into 20 ft container
PRODUCT PREPARATION:
First, most rebar produced in North America is produced using an EAF steel making process,
