General Lighting Power Dbs

The document provides specifications for general lighting power distribution boards (DBs) and main distribution boards. It lists requirements such as: maximum width and height dimensions for general lighting DBs; safety plates and gland plates being required; and terminal blocks needing to be used for DBs with over 24 circuits. It also outlines specifications for main distribution boards, including ensuring Form 3b compartmentalization; showing neutral and earth bus bars; and providing sufficient cable management space.

General Lighting Power DBs

 Maximum width of general lighting and power DBs to be restricted to 900mm. DBs can be
made floor standing with a height of 2000mm (including 100mm base).
 Support hooks not required because of space constraint.
 Safety plates required.
 Gland plate drawing required.
 Type-A RDCBO area required instead of offered Type-AC in some places.
 Control fuses with DIN rail mounted fuse holders to be provided instead of MCB
 Control wiring of impulse relay to be provided up to rail mounted terminals.
 Phase, neutral and earth terminals to be provided for each circuit and outgoing power cable.
 Power and control terminals to be ABB, Schneider or Phoenix Contact make.
 Copper terminals/extenders are required for termination of aluminum cable with bimetallic
lugs
 Surge protector must be modular with each pole replaceable.
 Availability of at least 20 spare holes to be ensured in each bus bar.
 Maximum wall mounting height of LPDBs to be 1500mm, beyond this LPDBs to be floor
mounted with 100mm base.
 For DBs having more than 24 circuits, distribution block to be used in place of bus bar for
space management.
 For DBs having more than 24 circuits, horizontal terminal block compartment to be provided
in addition to the 300mm vertical compartment, to allow easy cable management.
 Literature of the following items to be provided,
 Circuit Breaker
 Voltmeter
 Ammeter
 Bus bar
 Terminals
 RCBO
 MCB
 Fuse
 Impulse relay
 Surge arrestor
 Combs
Main Distribution Boards

 Depth to be confirmed.
 Disposition view is unclear due to overlapping of bus bar and breaker compartments.
 Form 3b compartmentalization to be ensured.
 Separate compartment required for terminal blocks to ensure form 3b
compartmentalization.
 Neutral and earth bus bars to be shown.
 Availability of at least 20 spare holes to be ensured in each bus bar.
 Gland plate drawing required.
 Metering control to have a separate compartment.
 Sufficient cable management space to be ensured.
 Designation of compartments to be mentioned on elevation for example cable chamber, bus
chamber.
 External lockable rotatory handle required for MCCB.
 Control fuses with DIN rail mounted fuse holders to be provided instead of MCB
 Indication lights, trip alarms and auxiliaries in outgoings not required.
