MIDYEAR ACCOMPLISHMENT REPORT

As part of Basic Education Learning Continuity Plan in the time of COVID 19
(BE-LCP). The Department of Education had to respond to the challenges posed by
COVID 19 in the field of basic education. We have to maintained that education must
continue, whatever the changes and even dangers we confront now and in the future.
The Learning Continuity Plan is not the work of one person alone. It is truly an
integrated output of the Department. BE-LCP covers the essential requirements of
education in the time of COVID-19, e.g. most essential learning competencies, multiple
learning delivery modalities for teachers, school leaders and learners, required health
standards in schools and workplaces, and special school related- activities.

The pandemic is not the only change that should cause us to reimagine school.
There is no program that could have prepared any of us to teach in a pandemic.
Teaching in this new normal situation prepares no one. Teaching should be versatile
and updated to meet the needs of learning population. Teachers must face the reality in
the most possible time.

My experience teaching during the Pandemic started in planning, organizing and

reinventing learning strategies that will be useful in teaching in the New Normal. I
attended a lot of seminars that will enhance my teaching skills and knowledge in dealing
with the New Normal. We also initiated Online Meetings with our Co-teachers, Parents
and Pupils. During the opening of classes, we were asked to faciliated Distance
Learning thru Online and Module set-up. We conducted online classes at the same
time, distributed and retrieved modules.

Aside from teaching and learning aspect, we also took into consideration the
mental health of our pupils. We still celebrated some occassions like halloween and
christmas. We wanted to let them feel the ambiance of Distance learning as an
welcoming environment for new experiences and ease their worries about the new
normal way of studying at home.

As English Coordinator, we conducted online reading assessment and tutorial to

assist our learners especially those who needed remedial lessons. The spirit of
volunterism was also evident in times like this. Brigada Eskwela enabled our different
stakeholders to take part in developing the school into a learning avenue with their
donations needed to maintain safety of all the personnels.
