1.13 Servicing central locking system

♦ The A6 central locking system is now electrical, as opposed
to pneumatic.
♦ The door actuators are integrated into the door lock and have
two motors.
♦ The actuators cannot be replaced separately.
♦ The first motor locks the door, whereas the second motor locks
the interior door handle (SAFE function).
♦ The doors can then no longer be opened from the inside either.
♦ The actuators for the filler neck compartment lid and rear lid
have one motor each and can be replaced separately.
♦ Following an accident involving airbag triggering, the central
locking system control unit releases any locked doors.
♦ The central locking system control unit is located in front of the
driver's seat beneath the floor covering.
