Jamal, the Chief Minister, apologised to Prince Fariz for tricking him. “I’m sorry but I had to do
something so you wouldn’t forget about your duties to your people and country.”
Prince Fariz remained silent. He thought about what Jamal had just said. “I’ve been very sad for a
long time. I’d be happy for your advice on what to do first.”
Jamal and Prince Fariz talked for a long time about the things that needed to be done for the people.
“First, you should go to the village and meet the people. They haven’t seen you since your father passed
away,” said Jamal.
“That’s a good idea. I’ll ride into town disguised as a commoner and see what the people think of
me. They’ll tell the truth about their new king if they think they’re talking to a stranger. I can carry out
my duties well if I know what the people really need,” said Prince Fariz.
