Create an account on Gmail.com

1. Open your Internet Browser of choice. (For Mac I am going to click on Launchpad [on
the bottom “Dock”] then clicking on Firefox).

2. Go to the Address Bar and type “gmail.com”. Press Enter (Return).

3. Click on “Create Account”, then click on “For Myself”.

4. Type in credentials for the email account. You can use your real name. The page will tell
you when an email address is not available. Use a strong password that is easy to
remember and either remember it or keep it in a safe place. After filling in the blanks
click next.

Note: A browser may ask if you would like to save a login for easy access. NEVER do this
on a public computer. Only do this on a private computer if you know no one else will be
able to access the computer itself, or if you are OK will other people in your home
accessing your email account.

5. Fill in Information for a backup access point (optional) and put your birthday and select
a Gender Option. You can enter a phone number and if you forget your email account or
password Google will send you a text that will allow you to re-access your account, or if
you already have another email account (such as Hotmail or Yahoo!) you can re-access it
through those emails.

6. The next page shows information about Privacy settings. There are 3 options here (after
clicking on more options). All these options are optional. They will only affect what you
see when using Google or Youtube.

Either option will do. If you would like Google search to autofill previous
searches in

-Ads Personalization
Ads will show up depending on your search history. If you don’t select
this option, ads will be generalized.

When you watch YouTube videos, Google will make a history of
everything you watch.
