 The Networking Diagram that we will working with it’s as the following:
Configuration Required on Cisco

Configuring Cisco Router
 As showing in the LAB image the cisco router will acting as DHCP server and gateway for
all collaboration devices like IP Phones and Presence .
 Also providing IP addresses to the end point devices automatically via dynamic host
configuration protocol.
 The configuration here is contain some differences than traditional DHCP configuration
because it’s required to activate some DHCP options to instruct and lead the endpoint
devices to TFTP server to get files required for endpoint to operate .
Configuring Cisco Router
 Configuration for Cisco Router is as the below
 ip dhcp pool VOIP
 network 10.1.94.0 255.255.255.0
 default-router 10.1.94.1
 domain-name ALTAMEER
 option 150 ip 10.1.94.4
 dns-server 10.10.1.4

 interface GigabitEthernet0/1.904
 description VoIP
 encapsulation dot1Q 904
 ip address 10.1.94.1 255.255.255.0

 The most important here is configuring option 150 to instruct the endpoint get their configuration from
Cisco CUCM TFTP Server.

 First of all we need to activate the baseline services and features to make CUCM work
properly .
 From navigation menu choose Cisco Unified serviceability.
 from Tools menu choose service activation.
 Choose the Main server IP address.
 Now make sure to activate the following services :
 Cisco Call Manager .
 Cisco IP Voice Media Streaming APP.
 Cisco CTI Manager.
 Cisco TFTP.

Method of Adding Phones to the CUCM.

Adding phones through auto registration.
Securing IP phones.
The Purpose of Device Pools
 IP Phones has number of criteria that must assign to them like :
 List of CCM (Cisco Call Managers)
 Codec that Should be used.
 Time and date information .

 Device pool group this configuration into single assignment .


Required Configuration for Device Pool
 Device Pool Name :
1. Cisco Call Manager Group.
2. Data/Time Group.
3. Region.
4. Soft key Template.
5. SRST Presence.
Hint : Before Beginning

 Before beginning with Configuration Modify Hostname of server to it’s IP Address


because if you leave it as Hostname this will be required DNS Server.
