1.2 Objectives of the Organization:

The main objectives of the organization are as follows:

• To provide access to information for people living with drugs and HIV.
• To improve access to treatment for people living with drugs and HIV.
• To build social acceptance to reduce stigma and discrimination
• To promote and protect the human rights of people living with drugs and
HIV.
To advocate for involvement of people living with drugs and HIV in decision making.
Chapter 8:

SWOT Analysis

Strength

• Trainee has theory knowledge.


• Trainee has confidentiality.
• There were supervisors and staffs of organization to help.

Weakness

• Trainee was new in social work field


• Trainee was struggling to make a decision..
• There were many mew members of the organizations(difficult to introduce
with all)

Opportunity

• Trainee got opportunity for practical implementation of theory and principle


learned in class.
• Trainee got chance to develop leadership.

There are so many things to learn.

Threats

• Some Clients are not much co-operative with trainee.


• Some time trainee fails to manage time events of organization.
Chapter 9:

Overall Learning

During field work period, trainee gained both good and bad experiences and
through this experiences trainee learned a lot of things. Trainee learned how
an organization works and also how to build a good rapport. Trainee learned
to have a strong spirit as well as to have a clear vision for the achievement of
the goal. Trainee learned to interact with the people and also learned to
organized interaction and presentation program.

8.1 Individual:
Trainee learned a lot of things from the organization in during that time. Trainee
got to learned lot more things about social work in practical life. Trainee got chance
to apply the theoretical. knowledge in the real life situation. Trainee learned how
to manage the office resources; trainee learned how to conduct and manage the
programs and how to give a good presentation.
8.2 Group:
Trainee in a group and working together in the group got opportunity to learn a lot
of things. The main important thing that trainee learned was the co-ordination
among the team during the group work. Also, trainee learned about the importance
of team work and group activities. The trainee had a great experience while
working the organization. As the organization's members are very friendly and
interactive for the sharing of new ideas and experience.
8.3 Professional:
Trainee in the training phase gained a lot of learning. Trainee's professional
learning as a social worker was trainee got to know how to psychologically
understand and deal with the client to handle the elder of the organization and to
convince them and also, how to solve the problem by identifying their problem.
The trainee learned about the basic ways to interact with the elder.
During field work trainee faced and solved many problems of individuals or group
but some are very sensitive and difficult that trainee is unable to solve. so in this
case trainee or suggest consul with senior members.
Chapter 7:

Observation and Analysis

Trainee observed that Leo club mirror is providing very excellent service to
the people of Balaju area and near. Many individual, group or society is
directly or indirectly taking benefits from the service of Leo club mirror.
Club is doing very good thing for the welfare of the individual or a
community. Club has provided much relief materials for the victims of the
earthquake; club has conducted many free health camps i.e. eye check up,
general body check-ups, blood donations etc. club has conducted many
awareness program in different social problems like world environment day,
Women's day, labour day, Aids day, Children's day etc. Leo club has also
provided very important voluntary services in many local festivals and jatras.

Leo club mirror has played an important role to solve the different problems.
Club has solved many problems of individuals and groups. Almost all the
people have taken a benefit of the clubs services. All the people are happy
with the work of the club.

This all shows that a club is doing its best to provide their services. All the
services provided by the club is for the positive changes in the community.
So all the people should cooperates with the club and participate in all the
program and activity of the club. Members of Leo club mirror also have to
change their attitude towards the society and should work for the betterment
of the society. The role of the club is very important for the society so hope
for the best.
Chapter 10:

Personal feelings

I feel very happy to work in field. Field work provided me different


opportunities and chance to develop my skills and talent and to solve different
problems. Field work helped me to apply my theoretical knowledge in a real life.
Different theories and principle of social work is very effective.
Field work provided a chance to learn new things in new place which helps to
develop leadership, confidentiality and problems solving skills. It also provide
chance to introduce with many new faces and places.
Field supervisors and staffs of Leo club mirror tough me many things during my field
hours. Their co-operation always helped me to face different problems and to
develop my skills and talent.
Chapter 11:

Discussions and Conclusions

10.1 Discussions

To work in Club is very joyful and fruitful. Staffs and members of the Leo club mirror are
very helpful and co-operative. To work in Club is very easy for trainee due to the help and
support of field supervisors and the helpful staffs and members of Leo club mirror.

Due to the support from everyone it is very easy for trainee to apply the theories and
principle learned in class to apply in real life. Trainee applied many theories and principle
discussed in class to solve different problems of both club and community.

10.2 Conclusions

Trainee got chance to engage in different activities like awareness program, different
health' camps and blood donations program, volunteering in different local festivals
and jatras, helping people to solve their problems.

Thus, this all proves that trainee has learned many thing during the field work in
Leo club mirror. Leo club mirror has provided opportunity for trainee to apply
theoretical knowledge in the practical.
CHAPTER-3
About The Organization

1.1 History and its Foundation:

Hope Foundation (HF) is officially registered in 2011 at the District Administrative


Office of Kathmandu in Nepal and affiliated with Social Welfare Council of
Government of Nepal as a non-governmental, non-political and non-profitable
organization which intends to offer a non-discriminatory, supportive, community
based approach while helping people to bring about changes in lifestyle. HF is a
community based organization with a group of professional people having a history
of experience on drug use and harm reduction, HIV/AIDS awareness and
prevention, Anti Human trafficking activities, community development work. Most
of the volunteers working actively in HF are people having history of injecting and
other out of drug using behaviour and people living with HIV/AIDS as well as the
people who are actively working in the development of the society.

Mission:

• Non-discriminatory, supportive community living to bring about changes in


lifestyle to alter the risk perception, to minimize harm, and to see the need
to monitor life as an ongoing process of spiritual growth of Drug user in
Nepal.

• To empower drug users by increasing knowledge and skills, mitigate


negative consequences of drug use including blood borne infections by
introducing evidence based and best practices in the world, and create
enabling environment for universal access by incorporating Policy makers,
Political parties, Program Implementers, and Media.
• Provide treatment and rehabilitation to drug users so that they become a
productive member of the society.

Introduction to Social Welfare Administration

"Social work administration is the method used by those who have administrative
responsibilities to determine organizational goals for social agencies or others units
acquired resources and allocate them to carry out a program to co-ordinate the
activities towards achieving selected goals and monitors access and make necessary
changes, process and structure to improve the effectiveness and efficiency" is the
definition according to social work Dictionary (1995).

Social Welfare is the organized system of social services and institutions, designed
to aid individuals and groups to attain satisfying standard of life and health, and
personal and social relationships that permit them to develop their full capacities and
to promote their well being in harmony with the needs of their families and the
community.

Social organizations is the social welfare administration methods to accomplish the


social welfare works and social organizations have made a great contribution for the
development of such method. Social organization directly provides the service to the
clients. And they mainly aim at making the social service more effective. In fact, it
is very important to have direct relationship with the clients to make the service more
effective. The reason is that it will be easy to have detailed information of the needs
of the people with problems. Thus the things like policies development, planning,
implementation, leadership development and occupational inspection should be
done based on real problem.
Social welfare administration also is one of the important methods of various
methods or various methods or process Of social work through knowledge
appropriate management to provide service for individuals,

Chapter 2:

Relation between Social Welfare and Field Placement

Social welfares the professional activities of helping groups of communities to


enhance or restore their capacity for social functioning and to create societal
conditions favourable to their goals. Social welfare is the art of bringing various
resources bear on individuals, groups and' community needs, by the applications
of a scientific method of helping people to help them. Modern social welfare
education has two dimensions: theoretical and practical. A social worker gains
knowledge about society, social problems, poverty, social structure, social values,
human behaviour, social work process when practical training enable them to use
their knowledge to acquired for social worker to solve social problems of human
being/society for modern social work.

Taking notice of this requirement higher education has been provided with
practical training course in its syllabus about social welfare, through which
students can apply theoretical knowledge of solution problems. Social and
Economic Council of United Nations has recognized social work as a profession
in 1951 and formulated the following decisions. Social work is profession based
on training male and female and who are obtained theoretical and practical
knowledge in social welfare degree from established and reorganized
educational institutions is mandatory to fulfilment by them.

Social welfare is a practical education which is learned through study of society


and social work. This is because ‘public good ‘ cab be affected only applying
theoretical knowledge in real life in a scientific way.

facilitate social relationship and adjustment necessary to social functioning.

Skidmore (1995) offers a summary 'Social welfare administration may be thought


of as the action of staff members who utilize social processes to transform social
policies of agencies into the delivery of social services. Basic processes most often
used are planning, organising, staffing; directing and controlling.

American Council of Social Work Education : “Administration is the process of


transforming community resources into a programme of community service, in
accordance with goals, policies and standards which have been agreed by those
involved enterprise. It is creative in that it structures roles and relationships in such
a way as to alter an enhance the total product. It involves the problem solving
process of study diagnosis and treatment solutions or actions and evaluation of
results “.

Objectives of the Trainee

Objectives of trainee are:

• Translate theoretical knowledge in practice.


• To meet the practical hours of curriculum.
• To acquire skills and in administration process for the effective
management of service.
• To build skill and self confidence.
• To Foster the collaboration between the department of social work and
organization.
• To work as a trainee in the organization.
• To develop the leadership.
• To identify and solve the different problems of organization.

Activities Carried Out by the Trainee


Some of the activities that trainee did at field work are listed below

4.1 Blood donation

Introduction

Blood donation is one of the important activities which is mostly done in different
particular places or areas all around the country. Lions club organizes different
blood donation programs where different people are able to give blood so that
Leo mirrors club are able to give certain amount of blood to red cross society or
hospital which people can be save.

Learning

Trainee learned to manage the programs and help trainee to interact with different
person helps to manage the individual, group or society.

Personnel feeling

Trainee learns very well and feels more confident and understands the importance
of blood in society. Trainee hopes to get this kind of opportunity again.
4.2Eye check up program

Introduction

Eye is one the important parts of human life. Lions club organizes the different
program where people are able to check up their eye without any cost. Trainee was
able to a manage the group and crowd.
Learning
Trainee learns that importance of healthy eye and solution of eye problems or

disease and able to learn the causes of eye problem.

Personnel feeling

Trainee felt very happy to learn more about the eye and causes of different eye
problems.
trainee hopes for opportunity in future that trainee got to experience in
organization.

4.3 Diabetes Awareness

Introduction

Trainee had to learn about the diabetes. its causes,effects,solution so that trainee
can give a lot

of information about diabetes to individual, group and society for the better future
and awareness.

Learning

Trainee learned about the diabetes and its causes, effects and solution. Trainee felt
very happy that to participate in the awareness program and helps to interact with
different people and hopes to get the chance in further.

4.4 Planning and meeting

Introduction
In every Programme there should be proper planning and meeting. Trainee had
got the chance to plan and learn to organize and plan the different program and
gives its idea. To make the Programme success there should be proper planning
and meeting.

Learning

Trainee learned the concept of planning and organizing the programs.


Chapter 6:
Theories Applied

1. Principle of meaningful relationship

The purpose of establishing relationship in social work is to change the


behaviour of client or to achieve adjustment in unadjusted situation.
Meaningful relationship is developed in social work by demonstrating the
interests in client. So, while solving the problems in the society a trainee also
tried to make a very close and healthy relation with the clients. This helps to
know the inner feelings of the clients.

2.Principle of non judgemental attitude

There are many types of people in the society when. Every society is composed
with the people from different class, cast, ethnicity, background etc. when
there are different types of people in the community then some people may
violent the morns of the community by which many problems may created. So,
to solve the problems in the community a trainee or a social. worker should
not blame a problem creator for his or her problem trainee or social worker
should only evaluates the attitudes, standards or action of the problem creator.

3. The Principle of controlled emotional involvement

According to this principle "the social worker tries to understand the client's
feelings and emotions but him [her himself/herself does not involved
emotionally in clients problems." So, during the field work a trainee have to
face or have to find the solution of many problems. Trainee meets with many
people, who are suffering from many problems in this case trainee always
controlled his emotion, trainee always reacted normally while listening
clients problems.

3.Principle of self awareness


Personal feelings

Trainee felt very good to learn about the concept of planning and hopes to learn

more new things in near future.

4.5 Volunteer and support in Jatra/festival

Introduction

Jatra/festival is one of the tradition where people get to experience various culture
about their life and coummunity.There will be large number of people in such case
there will be too crowd so Leo club mirrors was able organize the volunteer
program. Trainee help to manage crowd , provide free drinking water and manage
the lines.

Learning

Trainee learn about the importance of jatra / festival in the valley and was able to
lead in difficult situation.

Personnel feelings

Trainee feels great to be part in various jatra . trainee attend various jatra such as
baais dhare jatra, swayambhu jatra etc.
