Food Security and Livelihoods

This part seeks to answer questions on people’s access to food, access to markets, ability to protect their
livelihood assets (e.g. livestock). In the context of Relief operations: how many people cannot ensure
their immediate access to food and other basic survival items? How many people are at risk of losing
their (remaining) livelihood assets? Are markets open and accessible? In the context of Early Recovery:
What is the extent of the damages to sources of income and livelihoods? What measures are being taken
by local authorities and communities to assure food security of the most vulnerable and protect
livelihoods? What other strategies are needed to support local communities in recovering their
livelihoods?

What are the current strategies households are using to obtain food?

Estimate the number of households who are not able to cover their immediate food
needs.

How many households are in need of basic household items (cooking items, blankets,
tarpaulin, jerry cans, rope, clothing)? Specify which items are the priority of the
population.
