Mactan National High School Mactanlapu-Lapu City S.Y. 2020-2021 2 Semester/3 Quarter

This document contains a student's statistics assignment containing learning tasks on combinations, sampling distributions, and sampling means. The student calculated combinations, listed samples and their means from given populations, constructed sampling distributions of means by calculating frequencies and probabilities of sample means, and reflected on sampling distributions, sample means as random variables, and sampling error.

REFLECTION
Think about the answers to these questions.
1. What is a sampling distribution of sample means?
- Sampling distribution of sample means is a frequency
distribution using the means computed from all possible
random samples of a specific size taken from a population.

2. Why is a sample mean considered a random variable? Does a

sample mean has a probability distribution? Why?
- Sample mean is considered a random variable because any
mean based on a sample drawn from a population is expected
to assume a different values for the samples.
- Yes, the sample mean has a probability distribution because it’s
used to estimate the mean of a population.

3. What is a sampling error?

- Sampling error is the difference between the sample mean and
the population.
