A For Aluminum Door and windows
Ensure that the Aluminum door and window frames should be made by
1 reputed local workshop using machines.

Check that the members should be from standard sections and from
2 repudiated firm.

 The aluminium extruded sections shall conform to IS 733: 2008 and IS 1285 for
chemical composition and mechanical properties. The stainless steel screws
3 shall be of grade AISI 304.

The permissible dimensional tolerances of the extruded sections shall be as per


IS 6477 and shall be such as not to impair the proper and smooth functioning /
4 operation and appearance of door and windows.

Aluminium sheets for use as kick panels shall be 1.25 mm thick aluminium alloy
sheet as per IS 1948 and sheet shall be as per IS 737: 2008.

Aluminium alloy sheet for use in general panelling work shall be of types and
6 thickness as specified and conforming to the requirement of IS 737: 2008.

Aluminium sheets shall be of approved make and manufacturer. Aluminium


7 panel may be prefabricated units manufactured on modular or non-modular
dimension.
8 The float glass that conform to the IS 14900: 2000.
9 Flat transparent sheet glass shall be as per IS 2835.
10 Prelaminated Particle Boards shall be as per IS 12823:1990.
B Iron Fire Resisting Door and windows
Material: The sheet metal used for doors and frame is Galvanized Steel, confirm
1 to IS 277:1992.
Door leafs / shutter shall be fabricated from minimum 1.25 mm nominal
2 thickness Galvanized Steel

 Door frames / shutters have pre-drilled hinge plates with hinge guard covers,
3 concealed lock box with lock brackets and pre-tapped holes.

4 3 hours rated insulate steel shutters / leafs are 60 mm thick.


Fully furnished double skin door have interlock seam arrangement at stile
5 edges. Shutters have no visible screws, fasteners or rivets on either face.

The infill material shall be proprietary fire retardant heat insulating material
6 suitable for fire Stability, Integrity and Insulation rating.

The doors should be provided with fire resistant three point locking per shutter.

Provision should be made in shutter for fixing electromagnetic lock as per site
8 requirement.
Hinges: 4” Ball Bearing of SS 316 material for heavy duty application shall be
9 provided on each shutter leaf.
Each Door shall have minimum 3 mm thick base plate for the provision of
10 Aldrop and Tower bolts on both sides and also for door closure fittings.

Door Accessories required to supply along with each doors / shutter with
11 associated fittings and fixtures are:
Handle: SS 316 D' Handle 254 mm (in Pair) and dia. 21 mm without Rose, with
i SS 316 Push Plate (150 x 300 mm).

ii Aldrop of material SS 316


iii Tower Bolts of material SS 316 of 300 mm
iv Vision Panel: 3 hrs rating fire vision glass of Size 200mm x 300mm (PYRAN /
SCHOT or Equivalent)
C ROLLING SHUTTERS (IS: 6248)
Rolling shutters shall be as per the size to suit the dimensions of the openings
1 shown in the drawing. Unless otherwise specified, they shall be fabricated out
of 16 gauge thick G.I.

Laths of convex corrugation with rolling centre either 75mm or 65mm and with
2 minimum 12mm corrugation depth. The laths shall be interlocked by alternate
end clips.

The side guides shall either be of rolled section or one piece pressed
construction and shall be of size 25mm wide, 75mm deep. Thickness shall not
3 be less than 3mm.

The shutter shall be provided with bottom lock plate 3mm thick and reinforced
4 by an angle iron stiffener at the bottom and G.I. flat at the top.
The suspension shaft shall be of adequate design and unless otherwise
specified shall be formed from 8 gauge seamless tube, 60 mm O.D. with
5 suitable flange coupling.

The springs shall be of approved high tensile steel flat or coil spring hardened
6 and tempered. These shall be fitted inside the fabricated housing.

The ball bearings shall be double self-aligning ball bearings fitted inside CI
7 housing fixed on side brackets holding the suspension brackets at either ends.

The suspension of the shutter shall be bolted on specially fabricated cages


8 formed from G.I. flats and plates all are welded.
The hood cover shall be made of 18 gauge G.I. sheets with necessary stiffeners
9 and framework.

The locking arrangement shall consist of hoop and stable on the bottom plate,
10 lockable from both the sides.

The erection of these shutters shall be carried according to manufacturer’s


specifications. While fixing to concrete members, only shelf anchors shall be
11 used. Chiselling of concrete for fixing bolts will not be allowed.
