COOPERATIVE LEARNING LESSON PLAN 2

Describe The Class

The classroom consists of 25 students that are in the seventh grade. The classroom is set

up in five rows which allows the students to sit in groups of five.

Subject/Skill

The subject for this lesson would be Language arts. The students will be focused on

grammar, sentence structure, and punctuation.

Objective(s)

Students will be able to identify any errors or mistakes made in various writings. Students

will be able to determine how to fix the errors they found. Students will also be able to work in a

group to determine if the assignment was done correctly.

Procedures

The lesson will begin by reviewing the objectives with the students followed by

explaining what they will be doing for this lesson. Reviewing prerequisites includes explaining

to the students that they must be able to form a well structured sentence with correct punctuation

and little to no grammar errors in order to identify errors made in writing. The teacher will then

show various examples of sentences with errors and then identify those errors and explain how to

fix them. Followed by that will be three more examples in which the teachers will find one error

and allow the students to find the rest by having the students raise their hands to demonstrate

their level of understanding. For the rest of the time, the students will work in groups in which

they will each complete the worksheet and in one separate paper they will all write down the

answers they all agree in and fix the errors together.

COOPERATIVE LEARNING LESSON PLAN 3

Materials

Students will need their notebook along with a writing utensil to take any notes if desired as well

as write down the examples. Students will also need the worksheets that will be provided by their

teacher. The worksheets have various sentences that increase in difficulty with enough space for

students to cross out or write out any errors they find along with space for them to write the

sentences after they have been fixed.

Grouping Structures

The students will work in groups of three with one group of four. They will be able to

choose the groups they want to work with.

Modifications

Any modifications for students with learning disabilities may include providing the

students with an audio that reads the sentences with detail. If students with writing-digraphia are

unable to write the sentence the students will be allowed to tell their group what they identified

and fixed. English Language Learners will be allowed to work with any students that volunteer

to translate if needed, however, if no one is available to translate the teacher will then allow the

students to use a dictionary or translator. For any gifted students there will be a set of sentences

that are higher in difficulty.

Assessment

As the students are working, the teacher will be observing the students and ensure that

they are getting their work done. The students will submit their individual work along with the

paper in which all the students worked together.

COOPERATIVE LEARNING LESSON PLAN 4

Closure

The objectives will be reviewed one more time along with how the objects align with the

homework. The reading for the homework will then be provided to the students.
