Jamaica H. Ballera Beed3 ETLE2 With Entrepreneurship Activity 1. Why Plant Leaves Green?

The document contains responses to an activity asking about photosynthesis and the parts of a plant. It explains that: 1) Leaves appear green because chlorophyll absorbs all wavelengths of light except green, which is reflected, making leaves look green. 2) Photosynthesis is the process by which plants convert carbon dioxide and sunlight into oxygen and glucose (food). It is important as it produces oxygen for breathing and carbohydrates, proteins, fats and sugars. 3) A typical plant is drawn and labeled with stems, leaves, and roots.

ACTIVITY
1. Why plant leaves green?
As we can see around us, the leaves of
the plant are green. The green color of the
leaves is produced by chemical called
chlorophyll. Chlorophyll pigments harvest
energy by absorbing certain wavelengths of
light. Plants are green because the green
wavelength of light. Leaves look green
because the green light is not absorbed, the
green light is reflected or transmitted
through the leaf.

2. What is photosynthesis? Why is it useful?

In my own understanding,
photosynthesis is the procedure by which
plants convert carbon dioxide into their food, by utilizing the energy comes from the sun.
The best necessary elements of this method are sunlight, water, carbon dioxide and
chlorophyll. Photosynthesis is very important to animals, plants and especially to us human
being because it plays a critical role in making our world into life. It is very needed in order
to help beings to breath because in this process its produced oxygen. It is also produces
glucose which is also the source of carbohydrates, proteins, fats and sugars.
3. Bring live specimen of plants. Draw from memory a typical plant and label its parts. Draw
a plant and Label its parts here:

LEAVES

ROOTS
4. Draw and label the parts of the plant.
