Math SBA 2

This document is a school-based assessment project by Oswald Tiul investigating whether drink companies provide the advertised volume amounts. The project acknowledges those who helped with the SBA. It states that the purpose is to see if companies give the amounts they claim. The method describes buying 4 drinks, recording the labeled volumes, and measuring the actual volumes poured. The data shows the labeled versus actual volumes, with actual amounts all being higher. An analysis chart depicts this. The discussion notes the companies gave more than the labeled amounts in each container. The conclusion is that the companies give at least the labeled amount or slightly more.

Method of Data Collection

I will buy different brands of juice, measure the volume in each box and compare with the

number printed on the carton. I bought 4 different type of beverages and each beverage has it’s

own amount of milliliters (ml). I then poured each beverage in separate measuring cups. Look at

the labels and wrote each beverage milliliters (ml) that was on the beverages. Then it was

measured to see if the companies are actually giving the amount that they say they are giving.

Conclusion

The SBA project has shown that the companies are giving to the people what they have on the

label, but not only giving the exact amount but they are giving a little bit more than the amount

on the printed label.
