My teaching subject area is general education

with a specialization in Art and English, for grades K-6.

When students need help they are to

raise their hands and wait for me to call on them.

I will call on my students by their name

or depending on the lesson pull their name out of a hat.

Students should come into their clasroom

at the scheduled start time and put their belongings away in their assigned cubbies. After that they
should head to their assigned seats, and they will be dismessed by me at the end of the day.
Because I am teaching younger grades, I plan to
set out all the materials they will need on their desk for them, near their desk there will be storage desk
that has extra paper, pencils, crayons, etc for them to use when needed.
On the slide of the classroom, I plan to have cubbies that
have a space for their backpack, their lunchbox and their coat. This cubby will be labeled with their
name and their number so they know where to go.

For younger grades I will implement a couple of bathroom and water breaks so I can take my students
together so they are not wondering the halls alone, if a student has to go during instruction I would
call for a hall monitor to take the student.
For class interruption, I plan on doing the clapping
method
where the student hears the clapping beat and must follow the same rhythm so I know they know it is time

to refocus our attention to the lesson.

For tardies or early dismissals, that is more based
on what the school requires, but I will inform parents that they need to either email or write a note to
me so when the student comes in later or earlier I can expect it and prepare that student with
homework and work they need to complete to be prepared for the next day.
For homework I will have a designated bin for the
students to put their homework in when they walk into the classroom.
For younger grades I do not plan on assigning as
much homework because I feel like they need time to settle. With that being said unless parents email me
to tell me the students struggled with the assignment I do accept late work.

Listen and follow directions

Come to class with a positive attitude and be prepared to learn

Raise your hand if you have a question and wait to be called on

Be polite

Be kind to yourself and others around you

If a student breaks the rules, they will be given a kind

reminder of the rules, and why that rule is important in the classroom. I plan on having a green, yellow
and red behavior chart in my classroom so when they are given a warning they will be moved to
yellow, if they bad behavior consists they will be moved to red and the parents will be contacted.

Procedure, rules, and consequence wise are going

to differ largely from the grades that I am teaching compared to the older grades because older grades
should be more responsible and should not need as much instruction when it comes to basic rules that
should be followed.
