Mod 2 Assignment

The document discusses three theories of learning: behaviourist, cognitivist, and phenomenology. Behaviourist theory focuses on stimulus-response and reinforcement. Cognitivist theory views learning in relation to the environment and focuses on mental processes. Phenomenology emphasizes the effective domain of learning and how we respond to patterns rather than isolated stimuli. It also notes that curriculum should consider growth of technology, changes in family structure, and cultural diversity to adapt to societal changes.

Cognitivist theory, which view the learner in relationship with the total environment. Its highlights are:

 Knowledge of cognitivist are functional

 Focuses on mental processes of learning and how these are stored in the mind

Phenomenology, which emphasizes the effective domain of learning. Its highlights are:

 Phenomenology points out that the way we look at our self is crucial for understanding our
behaviour and that we respond to an organization of pattern of stimuli and not to an isolated
stimulus.
