How to disassemble
Disassembly Back Glass - 1
Pre-check point before disassembling Back Glass
1. Check the battery percentage before inputting the device into the mobile dryer.
→ Recommend below 80% of battery percentage (Avoid Full-charged battery)

2. Check the battery ASOC and usage cycle with SW capture tool.
→ Recommend above 80% of ASOC, below 500 counts of usage cycle

3. Check the Back glass status if it is swollen or not.

→ Never input the device whose back glass or OCTA is swollen in the mobile dryer.

If the device does not satisfies above conditions,

detach the back glass with Ethyl alcohol instead of
using heating machine (i.e. mobile dryer, hot plate).

Mobile dryer Hot plate

- Set 60℃ for 5 minutes to pre-heat the device in case of using the Mobile dryer.

- Set 60℃ for 3 minutes to pre-heat the device in case of using the Hot plate.

1. Fix the device on the Disassembly Jig.

2. Align 1 absorber along with the Back glass edge.

Recommend using ‘OCTA Disass’y upper JIG to prevent LCD crack.

How to disassemble
Disassembly Back Glass - 5

1. Put the Disassembly Jig upper and Fix the absorber on the Back glass.

2. Rotate the handle of Jig to disassemble Back glass.

3. Add Alcohol if the Back glass is stuck on the Rear case.

[ Notice ]
Focus on the corner of Back glass when using Ethyl alcohol.
※ Amount of Alcohol : Maximum 0.5ml(Flat), 0.7ml(Edge)

1. Gently lift the absorber up to disassemble.

2. Release the absorber and remove the Jig upper.

3. Take the device out and detach the Back glass safely.

[ Notice ]
Ethyl alcohol should not be touched on the print area of battery.

Disassembly Back Glass - 8

Important Handling Guide

1. Do NOT use Disassembly stick to detach the Back Glass or tape residue.

2. Do NOT place on the Rear case edge part without tape.

3. Printing area of Back Glass backside can be damaged by fingernails.

4. Avoid the Rear case edge part interference during attaching Back Glass.

5. Do NOT use Rework tape to remove residue on the Back glass.

How to disassemble
Disassembly Rear case

1. Loosen all screws (13 points) from the Rear case.

2. Eject the SIM card tray with Eject pin.

3. Disassemble the Rear case from bottom part.

Do NOT insert any sharp tool into the Sim card tray.

1. Open all connectors.

2. Take the Main PBA out from the Bracket.

3. Disconnect Sub PBA connector.

1. Loosen 2 screws on the Sub PBA.

2. Bend FPCB and detach Sub PBA with tweezers.

1. Disassemble the Receiver module with tweezers.

2. Disassemble the Motor with tweezers.

Disassembly Battery - 1

Avoid Battery
F-PCB area

※ Amount of Alcohol :
Minimum 0.3ml
※ Wait 30~60sec for
absorption of the alcohol.

1. Put Ethyl alcohol into Battery adhesive part with clean swab. (Avoid FPCB Area)

2. Detach the Battery with disassembly stick via disassembly hole.

3. Remove all tape residue with disassembly stick.

[ Notice ]
Do NOT push the stick too deeply or strongly.
Do NOT use any sharp tools(knife, tweezers) during disassembling battery.

※ If the battery is not properly removed it may lead to damage to the phone and battery.
Only authorized service providers with the instructions provided can remove the battery.

Disassembly OCTA - 1
Battery Check point before using Mobile Dryer
- Check the battery status(Usage cycle and ASOC) with SW Capture tool.
→ Below 500 times Usage cycle AND Below 80% ASOC

- Do the visual inspection and find any defective symptom on the battery.
→ Swollen, Corrosion, Leaked liquid, Hole on the Pouch

* For above 2 cases, Do NOT put the battery into the Mobile dryer.

1. Disassemble the Back glass, Rear case and PBA in advance.

2. Re-assemble the Rear case and tighten 6 screws.

3. Set the proper temperature and time and heat it up.

- 60℃/5min(Mobile Dryer) and 60℃/3min(Hot plate)

Keep in mind the setting of Mobile dryer or Hot plate before detaching OCTA.

1. Fix the device on the disass’y holder.

2. Put Ethyl alcohol into the Rear case when the OCTA starts detaching.

3. Detach the OCTA by pulling absorbers.

Watch out not to give any damage on the OCTA.

Fold 180º opposite way

[ Caution ]
LCD panel damage

1. Remove the Cu tape residue from the OCTA backside.

2. Remove the Cu tape residue from the Bracket.

[ Notice ]
Do NOT push the Disassembly stick into LCD panel.
Fold Cu Tape in the direction of 180º during detaching from LCD backside.

1. Remove the form tape from the OCTA outside.

2. Remove all residue on the OCTA outside with Acryl rework tape & Jig.

1. Attach the Sub PBA on the Bracket backside.

2. Bend and attach the Touch key FPCB with tweezers.

1. Attach the Cu Tape on the OCTA backside.

2. Push whole area of tape with thumbs softly.

3. Confirm the tape line of edge part.

[ Notice ]
Align the edge part along with FPCB precisely.

1. Put the OCTA form tape on the Jig.

2. Align the levers along with the edge of tape.

3. Put the OCTA on the tape and push gently.

Assembly Battery - 1

Flat Edge

1. Attach the Battery adhesive tape on the Bracket.

2. Push the both sides with disassembly stick.

3. Remove the vinyl and attach the Battery.

Push enough the both sides of battery with thumbs after attaching.

1. Press the Battery with support pad and pressing Jig.

2. Place the unit on the center of lower pad.

3. Release the handle and take the unit out.

1. Assemble RCV module with tweezers. (Sensor → RCV → IR LED)

2. Assemble Motor and press it with thumb.

Torque: 1.3kgf/㎠

1. Assemble the Sub PBA on the Bracket.

2. Tighten 2 screws on the Sub PBA.

3. Align 2 coaxial cables in the Bracket guides.

Assembly Main PBA

Flat Edge

1. Bend all FPCBs and cables before assemble the Main PBA.

2. Put the PBA on the Bracket and connect Sub PBA connector.

3. Connect all connectors on the Main PBA.

Confirm all connecting and alignment of cables after assembling PBA.

Assembly Rear case

Torque: 1.3kgf/㎠

1. Assemble the Rear case on the Bracket. (Bottom → Top)

2. Press the OCTA outside with thumbs.

3. Tighten 13 screw on the Rear case.

1. Put the Back glass form tape on the Jig.

2. Align the levers along with the edge of tape.
