will be given to the Employer/Consultant and work will be started only after approval/work order from
employer/consultant.
2. Site Clearance:
Prior to the start of any work, lay-out the right-of-way, working areas, clearing, and pavement cutting to insure
a proper recognition and protection of the adjacent properties.
Ensure that the general shape, profile, and levels of the area are not materially altered during clearing and
grubbing operations. In order to avoid re-clearing or to control dust or erosion may have to clear and grub at
the latest practicable stage of construction. As technical requirement clearance including
The removal of all trees and bushes (complete with roots), other vegetation, rubbish, fences, and all
other material that may interfere with the construction of the Work.
The removal of all rocks and boulders of size up to 0.2 m3 that are lying on the surface to be cleared or
exposed during the clearing operation.

source. The HDPE & GI Pipes will be bought from the approved manufactures within Nepal and DI pipes will
be imported from China or India after approval of the sources.
6. Earth works
Foundation excavation will be done by using excavators and or manual. Slope will be maintaining to
1:1.5 slopes. However, it may more than this depending on the nature of soils, site conditions and
instructions of the employer. The excavated materials will be used for filling and excess material will
be disposed in the designated area. Additional soils required for the filling will be brought from the
approved borrow pits if necessary.
7. RCC Works
Concrete shall be mixed by using Mixer Machine, Mixing shall be continued till materials are
uniformly distributed and a uniform color or entire mass is obtained and each individual
particle of the coarse aggregate shows complete coating of mortar.
Concrete shall be so transported and placed manually and attention shall be paid for no
contamination, segregation or loss of its constituent materials take place. All formwork and
reinforcement contained in it shall be cleaned and made free from standing water, dust
immediately before placing of concrete. The concrete will be deposited between a minimum
and maximum temperature as specified in the specification. It shall be compacted in final
position within half an hour of its discharge from the mixer. The concrete shall be deposited in
horizontal layer to a compacted depth of usually not exceeding 45cm. Vibrators will be used
for compaction. When the concreting is to be resumed on a surface which has hardened it shall
be roughened, swept clean, thoroughly wetted and covered with a mortar layer of same
concrete mix. Vibration shall not be applied through reinforcement. In case of vibrators of
immersion type, contact with reinforcement shall be avoided as far as practicable.
7.4 Curing:
Immediately after compaction concrete shall be protected against harmful effects or weather
including rain, running water and drying process. It will be covered with wet sacking, Hessian
or other similar material approved by the Engineer soon after the initial set and shall be kept
continuously wet for a period of not less than 21 days from the date of placement or as
directed by the Engineer.
7.5 Finishing:

4 Method Statement
For pedestrians and vehicular traffic, control will be achieved through traffic sign, flag man, and road
barrier as required.
False work will be constructed to substantially conform the false work drawing. The material used in
false work construction will be the quality necessary to sustain the stress required.
Suitable jacks or wedges will be used in connection with false work to set the form at the required
grade and to take up excessive settlement in the false work either before or during the placing of
concrete.
Removal of False Work will be done as per the requirement of the works or as per satisfaction of the
engineer.
Trench excavator for transmission line shall be done by excavator and manually as well as applicable.
Pipe lay shall be commence only after the bottom of the trench and the pipe beds have been approved
by the Engineer's representative. Pipes shall be laid on the specified bedding cradle true to designated
line and level. Adjustments to line and grade should be made by scrapping away or adding adequately
compacted foundation material under the pipe and not using wedges and blocks or beating on the pipe.
All joints shall be made with care so that the interior surface is smooth and consistent with the interior
surface of the pipes. After finishing, the joint shall be kept covered. The Hume pipes used shall be of
vertical vibro casting method only. The reinforcement to be used shall be with automated spot welding
caging system.
9. Manholes and Connections Chambers Covers
Covers and frames for manholes, connection chambers and grid inlets shall be of cast iron or precast
concrete as specified in BOQ and Drawings. These shall be supplied in matching sets, each set bearing a
serial number to enable them to be identified. For manholes constructed in carriageway and shoulders,
heavy duty circular covers and frames shall be used. In footpaths, medium duty circular covers shall be
used. In other locations light duty covers and frames shall be used. The use of types of manhole covers
shall be as shown in the drawing or directed by the engineer.
