Background:

Ha-Meem Group, a Bangladeshi clothing producer, is leading provider of


readymade garments and denim fabric in the world. They are one of the top
garments organizations in Bangladesh. The organization delivers probably the
most fashionable denim fabric and clothing items and possesses one of the most
extensive and resourceful manufacturing facilities in Bangladesh.

Ha-Meem Group has acquired name and popularity both at home and abroad as
one of the top garments organizations in Bangladesh. The consistent development
of this group is moving forward hand on hand with the industrialization of the
nation of origin Bangladesh. Also they as a Bangladeshi garments producer have
been contributing massively in the monetary development of the country. Because
of their fruitful history with the world driving clients and purchasers, they are the
most valued and very much presumed Bangladeshi garments producer.

Today Ha-Meem Group utilizes around 50,000 specialists and the organization is
furnished with 26 pieces of clothing production lines, an extraordinary Denim
plant, Sweater industrial facility, Embroidery and Printing processing plant, Carton
manufacturing plant, Poly sack industry, Label plant, Jute factory, Chemical
definition plant, Tea Gardens, Transport organization, News Channel and a public
every day Newspaper.

Current HR System:

a)Recruitment: Ha-Meem recruitment process are done in four step:

 Finding out the vacancy: Ha-Meem Group has different department. So the
first thing they do is finding vacant position from all departments and then
list them down.
 Prepare job description and person specification: The second step that Ha-
Meem does is to prepare the job description and person specification
according to the vacant position.
 Advertisement in Newspaper & Websites: In the third step the Ha-Meem
Group publish advertisement in national newspaper and websites. The
advertisement includes name of the position, nature of work, educational
qualification, qualities and experience required for the job, etc.
 Receiving Applications & Short listing: In the advertisement, potential and
certain candidates are approached to present their applications alongside
their resume, testaments and other essential records within a time period.
After getting the response from the candidates they shortlist the potential
candidate resumes.

b) Selection process: ha-Meem selection processes are done in four steps:

 Written Test: After CV screening Ha-Meem Group organizes written test


with two types of question pattern one for executive employees’ based on
mathematical questions and another one for operative employees based on
the general knowledge and basic education related topics.
 Board Interview: When a candidate passes the written test a board interview
is arrange by the selection board. The board interview is conduct by the
respective department head, of HR & senior employees where they ask the
candidates some basic question and about the job for which they applied for.
 Background Investigation: After the board meet the HR division checks the
background of the candidate like experience, abilities, past employment
history, education background etc.
 Permanent Job Offer: If the candidate passes both the board interview and
background investigation he/she are offered with the joining letter.
c) Training and development: Ha-Meem training and development process are
done in four steps:

 Identify Training needs: HR managers of Ha-Meem group at first compare


the expected organizational performance with the observed organizational
performance. If they find any difference then run deliberate strategy for
figuring out what made execution be not exactly anticipated.
 Establish objectives: After identifying the training needs the HR managers
make a plan to fill up the deficiency of the organization performance and
then they develop training objectives.
 Select training method, Conduct and deliver training: In this process they
develop the real training material based on their training objectives. They
usually give lectures and real demonstration of the work.
 Evaluate performance: After conducting the training they observed the
performance of the employees again to check how much they have develop.

d) Benefit offered: In Ha-Meem Group only permanent employees get extra


benefits by the association. Fundamentally they expect monetary help as advantage
however some of the time they expect other persuasive factors, for example,
transportation benefits, extra time benefits, working compensation social security,
family and clinical leave.

e) Appraisal system and tools: Steps in performance appraisal:

Defining the job– The first task of Ha-Meem is to ensure that their subordinate
concur on their obligations and job standards.

Measuring and appraising performance- Then the supervisor measures the


subordinates’ performance and compares the actual performance of subordinates
with the standards that have been set and give a rating on it.

Providing feedback – Based on the rating, the subordinate’s performance and


progress are discussed, and lastly the HR management and supervisor together
makes plans for any development required.
