Precalc Recipe Project - Rational Functions

The document provides instructions for a pre-calculus recipe project due on May 14th. Students are to choose a recipe with at least 10 ingredients, blank out the amounts, and write pre-calculus problems to solve for each missing amount. A second sheet must show the worked out problems and filled-in amounts. An example recipe for blonde brownies is provided but students may not copy those problems.

Pre-calculus Recipe Project

Due Date is Tuesday 5/14.

 Choose a recipe that has at least ten (10) ingredients.

 Blank out all the amounts in the recipe

 Write a problem that the answer comes out to the amount that is needed for that step
of the recipe. The problems can include any rational problem (characteristics or
solving). There may not be more than 2 problems of the same type (for example
there may not be 3 questions about horizontal asymptotes).

 Include a second sheet with the problems worked out and the amounts filled in.

 This project will count as a test grade.

 An example is attached. DO NOT copy any of the problems from my example!
