0.6 Time Domain Signal (Original Signal)

The document contains graphs and text about analyzing a time domain signal. It shows the original signal in the time domain (i) and frequency domain (ii). It also shows the signal's spectrogram (iii). The text explains that filtering the signal with a cutoff at 3000Hz would degrade the quality, and suggests using 6000Hz instead since frequencies above that have low amplitudes. Graphs (iv) show the results of applying a band pass filter from 3000Hz to 4000Hz, identifying the pass band frequencies as X and Y.

No, the quality of filtered music is not the same as the original music since the frequencies above 3000Hz is
being attenuated. If we want the filtered frequency to have the same quality as the original music, the
cutoff frequency should be 6000 Hz, since we can see from the frequency content of the original music that
the frequencies above 6000Hz have very low amplitudes.

X is around 3000 Hz and y is around 4000Hz. From the spectrogram above, the red area represents the
range of frequencies which pass through the band pass filter. This range is from 3000Hz to 4000Hz.
