Directions: Assess your personal preparedness to communicate effectively with people

of different cultures by labeling each of the following statements as TRUE or FALSE.

TRUE 1. I enjoy communicating with people unlike me as much as with those like me.

FALSE 2. I am equally sensitive to the concerns of all groups in our multicultural society.

TRUE 3. I can tell when people from other cultures do not understand me or are
confused by my actions.

1. Did you already experience communicating with people who belong to a
different race or culture? How was it?

Yes, it was nice we understand each other’s point, I learn many things about
their culture, and I learn that it is not the basis for being culturally different so as
not to be noticed. We ask each other questions about our personal lives and
because of that, I became even more interested in talking to learn more about
their culture.

2. On a scale of 1 – 10 with 10 being the highest, how prepared are you in terms of
Communicating with people in a different culture? Out of 10,

10, because even before I had the experience of talking to people from other
cultures, I learned the things that need to be concerned about communicating,
especially in different cultures. I could do this with my cultural partners. For example, I
was being understood because it is one of the essential things that will allow you to
communicate well with people from other cultures.
