DE-ICING FACILITIES & PROCEDURES

Incheon Airport
• De/Anti-icing operations are performed only in the remote de-icing pads.
• Both engines on and off De/Anti-icing are possible.
ENG on available types: A220, A318, A319, A320, A321 , A330, A350,
8737, 8757, 8767, 8777, 8787
• All communication during de/anti-icing is via VHF radio(called Ice-man)
* In frost condition, the Ice Man is not operated. So, communication is performed
via an interphone and the cockpit shall shut down engines during de-icing .

• This marking is located on all de-icing pads to help aircraft stop without marshal
_Deicing Pad service.
Number
• The transverse bar indicates the cockpit stop position.
• Aircraft proceed into the assigned de-icing pad and hold abeam the stop line.
* The pilot stop line lights are not installed in the de-icing pad #801 "'802,
#814'816"'817, #825, #841"'842, #851"'852.

When ready for push back. contact Incheon De-icing & advise
[EX] ''lncheon Deicing, (CIS), Aircraft deicing required and Engines on(or off) deicing"
Incheon De-icing will assign the de-icing zone.
Contact Apron for push-back and taxi to the de-icing zone. * Set Mode A code to 2000

Entry Procedure When approaching the de-icing zone, Apron will advise the flight crew to contact
Pad Control.
Pad Control will assign the de-icing pad & instruct the flight crew to continue taxi to the
de-icing pad.
* Use extra caution when entering pad, there are no marshaller and wing-guard.
After entering the assigned de-icing pad by reference to the pilot stop line, report parking
brake set.
Pad control will advise the flight crew to contact Ice Man for de-icing/anti-icing.
* In frost condition(no Ice-man}, remain Pad control frequency.
De-icing When contact Ice Man, report the de-icing pad number and parking brake set.
Procedure ''lce Man, (CIS), Deicing pad 834, Parking brake set."
I Ice Man will confirm engines on/off de-icing.

When the flight crew report "Ready for de-icing", Ice Man will inform the de-icing treatment.
It is possible to request extra treatments if needed.
Then stand by for de-icing starting.
[EX] "(CIS), Type 1 and type 4, wings and tail, engines on(or off) deicing."
Ice Man will inform "De-icing starts now"
(Engines on) When de-icing is started, contact Incheon Delivery to get ATC clearance.
(Engines off) When de-icing is completed, contact Incheon Delivery to get ATC clearance
by Ice Man instruction.
* When the flight crew contacts Incheon Delivery, the flight crew should report whether
de-icing is started or completed.
[EX] ''lncheon Delivery, (CIS), Deicing starts(or completes) now at pad 834"
. After de-icing completion, Ice Man confirms that the aircraft is clean and all vehicles are
in the safety zone. Then Ice Man provides the Anti-icing Code.
[EX] "(CIS) deicing complete, deiced with type I, anti-iced with type IV at 100%, holdover
started at 13:35 local time, post deicing check completed, aI/ personnel and equipment
are clear of aircraft. "
* If applied de-icing fluid(e.g., ''Type 1"} only, "holdover time does not apply".
* In frost condition, Ice Man will be replaced by the Interphone-man.
(Engines on) When ready to taxi, Ice Man will advise the flight crew to contact Pad control.
(Engines off) After getting the ATC clearance, request "Engines start up" to Ice Man.
When ready to taxi, Ice Man will advise the flight crew to contact Pad control.

Contact Pad Control and advise [EX] "Pad control, (CIS), ready to taxi':
* Do not contact pad control until Ice Man advise to contact Pad control.
Exit Procedure Pad Control will give you taxi instruction.
* Hold aircraft in position until instructed by Pad Control.
* Do not move until the pilot stop line lights are turned off in de-icing zone AS, MS.
* The flight crew should make a final confirmation that the pad is clear from all personnel
and equipment, before exiting the pad.
