EVANGELISM & DISCIPLESHIP

Lesson #1 The Vessels that God uses - 2 Timothy 2:20, 21

God created us for a purpose. A chair is made for people to sit on. A bed is made for people to sleep in. We humans are created to glorify
God. If you buy a brand new car, and you never use it; what a waste would that be! Our life will also be a waste if we are not used to glorify
God. We should fulfil the purpose that we were given by God. We are to be used by God for his glory and honor.
God is referred to as a potter and we humans are clay (Isaiah 64:8). God as a potter created us vessels according to His plan, and His desire.
What are the criteria for vessels to be used? What kind of person would God use?   How can we be used as a vessel, as an instrument of
God?

I. Criteria for Vessel or Person God will use

1. The first condition is Proximity (Accessibility, Availability)

The vessel near the user is likely to be used. It must be within a short distance from the user. The vessel has to be
near the user if it is to be used. The user will not bother to use the vessel if it is out of his reach no matter how clean,
how pretty, how expensive and how precious the cup may be. Accessibility is vital for the vessel to be used.

Proximity also means availability. Sometimes the greatest ability we can have is availability. To be where God can call us,
to be within whisper range of His summons, that is the beginning of a life of meaningful discipleship. Just like a house or
shop in good location, convenient place is in great demand, an accessible person, an available person is in great
demand.  So, where you will be in relation to God is essential to be used by Him. You must be near God to be used by
him. Samuel was near God lying down in the house of the Lord, where the ark of God was. Then the Lord called Samuel
and he answered “Here I am.” 1 Samuel 3: 3, 4.  Because Samuel was near God, he was used mightily as a prophet of
God.

What does it mean to be close to God? It means that we become conscious of God's presence and have an open heart
to listen to Him. So, those whose hearts are tuned to God are close to God. They are those who are seeking God by
reading God's word “the Bible” and by praying to God.  If you want to be close to someone, you need
to communicate with the person often. Closeness does not only mean physical distance, but also a good relationship. A
husband and a wife who live under the same roof do not necessarily feel close to each other, if they don't communicate
enough.

2.    Emptied vessel
Secondly, the vessel has to be empty. It cannot be used if it is full of things. Can you use a cup filled with something
when you want to drink water? Even if the cup is near you, if it is filled with any other substance, you will not use it. You
will, either, empty the cup and clean it before using it; or, you will simply reach for an empty cup. The vessels have to be
empty if they are to be used.

Hebrew 12:1, In order to achieve the mission that God has given to us, we often must eliminate the less important things
in life. God cannot use a person whose heart is filled with worldly things, whose focus is nothing but becoming rich and
famous, who is preoccupied with the busy tasks of the earthly things. The more targets you have, the more difficult to
shoot them all. The success rate becomes less when you have divided attention. It is difficult to ride two horses at the
same time. Mathew 6:24; Mathew 13:22, Let us throw away unnecessary weight of sins and empty our vessels so that
we could be used by God.

3.     Clean vessel
Even if the cup is near the user, and empty, if it is dirty with filthy stain or mould, you would not use it; would you? The
unclean cup is not hygienic. It is harmful to your health. The vessel must be clean. God is Holy. He cannot use unclean,
filthy instruments. Impurity, sinfulness is against His holy nature.  God cannot use an unclean and sinful person. Isaiah
had to confess his sin and get rid of his sin before he could say “Here I am, send me”. Isaiah 6: 6,7, Isaiah had to be
purged and cleansed before he was ready to be sent for his work.

If a sinful man with a low moral standard tries to do God's work, it will cause more harm than help the work. Imagine
what damage he could bring to the church, if he is hooked on drugs, and living an immoral life sleeping with different
partners! A blind man cannot lead a blind person. A person living an immoral life should not preach to others telling
them to stop living an immoral life. Actions speak much louder than words. It is vain to preach what you do not practice
at all. You have no right to correct others if you are guilty of the same sin (Matthew 7:3-5).

A house wife  wondered why the next door neighbors' washed clothes which were hung outside on the washing line
always looked so dirty. The white sheets particularly appear to have stains always. So, she audaciously said to the next
door house wife, “How come your sheets always look dirty with stains? You should wash your sheets properly.” But one
day she realized that it was her kitchen windows that were dirty with stains and not the next door neighbors'
washings.

4.    Willing vessel (desire)
We have already learned that the vessels are figurative and they actually represent us, humans, particularly
Christians. So, the last criteria to be a useful vessel is whether it has a heart to want to serve God or not.  Would an
employer want to use an unwilling worker who always complains and grumbles if he or she is asked to do some job?

When God created man, God gave him free will. Man can choose to love God and serve Him, or he can live a life to
please himself disobeying God. God respects our free will. Love is voluntary. You cannot force someone to love you. God
would rather not use you if you do not want to do the job. He loves a willing worker. The prodigal son recorded in Luke
15.

a. Willing to do as God says.

b. Willing to go where God sends.
c. Willing to give all to God.

II. How can we then cultivate our desire to serve God?

1) Know how much God loves you.
If you realize how much God loves you, you want to serve him in return. Love is reciprocal, if you know you are loved
by someone, it is natural that you will have a desire to serve the person. So, learn more about God's love, then your
desire to serve God will be greater. The Bible says; “Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love
another.”(I John 4:11)   If you realize how much God loves us, we will in return love our neighbors and serve God.

2) Know the desperate need in the world. Know how much your help is needed.
Jesus said to his disciples: “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few.” Luke 10:2   Jesus shows here that
there are plenty of souls who are waiting to hear the gospel and eager to be saved, but the workers are few. There are
great needs in reaching and saving the lost. We often fail to reach people as we do not realize their desperate need.
Awareness and realization of the need is the first step to reaching out to the lost. Holy Spirit will impress a particular
need of the people so that reaching and helping them becomes a personal one. David Wilkerson went to the slum area
of New York City to reach the lost souls of juvenile delinquents and gangs, when he saw their urgent need and the Holy
Spirit impressed him to reach them. [ David Ray Wilkerson (May 19, 1931 – April 27, 2011 [1] ) was best known for his
book The Cross and the Switchblade . He was the founder of the addiction recovery program Teen Challenge , and
founding pastor of the non-denominational Times Square Church in New York . ]

II. Why we should evangelize?
1. Bec. Jesus was a soul-winner – Lk. 19:10
2. Bec. the harvest is great & the laborers are few – Mt.9:37
There is an element of urgency when harvest comes. If the fields are not quickly reaped the harvest may
perish in the field. Storms may come & damage the harvest or if not harvested quickly, fruit can over-ripen
and spoil. 1 Cor. 7:29 Paul sensed the urgency.
- billions need to hear 2b or 40% of the people in the world are outside the reach of the Gospel.
- 80% are Catholic, 20% are not these includes all other religions
3. Bec. of the Great Commission – Mk. 16:15
4. Bec. God will hold us accountable - Eze. 3: 17,18; 33:6-8
III. Important Things to have as a Witness
1. Passion for God – Mt.22:37-39
Relationship with God is our top priority & pleasure. How much do you love God?
2. Compassion for the people – Mt. 9:35-37
Spiritual maturity or growth is measured in our relationship with people. How do we relate with them is
to with love and compassion.
3. Commitment to the Great Commission – Mt. 28:18-20
Goal – disciples not members
Disciples – soul winners, warriors, intercessors, learners, givers, tithers, world changers
4. Spirit of Fathering
Willing to follow-up, to take care of their growth & to disciple them to become disciplers.
IV. Inner Preparation – The Necessity of Prayer
1. Bec. there seems to be a direct rel. between the amount of effort spent in prayer & being effective.
2. If the level of our communion w/ God is low, so too will our effectiveness be low in communicating Christ.
3. We can also know God’s love & his presence that we will be able to share what God is like & it is the
character of God we really need to exhibit to a hurting world.
4. If God is speaking to us in prayer & we are enjoying friendship w/him then our lives will more readily reflect
the life of Christ. In turn we will be noticed by the sinner who will thus respond to what we say. Making God
known is a natural outcome of knowing God. Thus, to be effective we must grow to know God more & more.
5. We need to pray that God will lead us to the right people.
V. Basic Consideration in Evangelism
1. Salvation is of God - Jonah 2:9, Witnessing must always be a trilogy.

LESSON #2b EVANGELISM PART 2

I. Kinds of Evangelism
1. Mass Evangelism – evangelizing a group of people. Ex: crusade, concert, etc.
2. Personal Evangelism – one on one, person to person evangelism
II. Methods of Evangelism
1. House to house evangelism – evangelizing to villages specifically to families in the house.
2. Bloodline evangelism – evangelizing to your relatives.

3. Street evangelism – evangelizing to the streets, parks, markets & etc.

4. Friendship evangelism – evangelizing to your friends.
5. Pray, care & share evangelism – you will first pray for them, then pray with them, after that care for them,
then last share the Gospel.
6. Tracts distribution evangelism – giving tracts then explain to them.
7. Feeding evangelism
8. Medical mission evangelism
9. Film showing
10. Concert
11. Healing crusade
III. Tools of Evangelism
1. Kennedy approach
A. Introduction
1. Conversation
2. Your testimony
3. Opening questions:
a. Have you come to the place in your spiritual life, where you know for certain, right now that if you die
that you will go to heaven?
b. Suppose something were to happen & you would stand before God today & he would ask: why should I
let you to heaven? What would be your response?
“I have the best that you never heard. It has a power to make you a better person. Would you lie to hear?
B. Concepts
I. Grace – Rom. 6:23
II. Man’s condition – Rom. 3:23
III. God’s ways – Jn 3:16; Eph. 2:8-9
IV. Faith & Commitment – Jn. 1:12
V. Prayer & acceptance – Rev. 3:20
2. One-verse witness
Rom. 3:23; Rom. 6:23; John 3:16; Jer. 29:11; Rev. 3:20
3. One-Minute witness
The average person hears the Gospel 7 times before they give their life to Christ. Our immediate goal is
not to win them to Christ, but to plant the seed of your testimony. Anything more than that is a bonus! You
can respond to their questions if they are open to talk more. Just don’t get into a discussion over doctrine. The
power of your story is simply sharing your heart.
1. Permission
When we ask people permission to share our thoughts, we treat them with respect, and their defenses
come down. Here’s a way to transition your conversation…..
‘I wonder if I could ask you a question?’ if they agree, ask….
“What would you say is the best thing that has ever happened to you?”
After they finish their story, then ask…..
“May I share the greatest thing that has happened to me?”
Be brief. Share the gospel in 60 seconds. A brief story will help keep your friend engaged.
2. B. C. (Before Christ)
Think of 3 adjectives that describe your B.C. life.
= lonely, frustrated, lacked of purpose, successful without significance, lots of guilt, anxiety, no
direction, hopeless angry at God afraid to die, etc.
3. T.P. (Turning Point)
A season of spiritual curiosity, a time when you see your spiritual need. It could had been during a
church service, during a crisis, a healing, answered prayer. During the time when someone shared their faith
to you or when you experience success, yet still felt empty. How did you hear about Jesus? What did you ask
Jesus to do in your life?
4. A.D. (After You Received Christ)
Describe the positive change that Christ has made in your life.
5. If I Had Never Met Christ…….
Imagine what your life look like without knowing Jesus. Empty, meaningless, still searching for purpose,
in jail, on drugs, divorced or even dead.
4. Tracts approach
a. God’s Way To Heaven c. Ang Pinakamaayong Gasa
b. A-Z

LESSON # 3 FOLLOW – UP
What is Follow-up?
Follow-up refers to the discipleship process in a person’s life after he/she makes a decision for Christ.
It is the conservation, maturation, and multiplication of the fruit of evangelism. It is the spiritual pediatrics. It
has to do with the care & protection of the spiritual parents to their spiritual infants & deals with the
development. Winning & building are inseparably linked together in the Scriptures. They are God’s two-edged
sword for reaching men & making them effective disciples for Christ.
What is the Goal of Follow – up?
The goal is to bring this new converts to a place of Christian maturity, Gal.4:19
Biblical Examples of Follow-up.
1. Paul, when he was converted – Acts 9:10-18
2. New Christians at Antioch – Acts 13:38-44
3. Timothy – Acts 16:1-5
The Needs of a New Believer:
1. The need for assurance – he needs to know that he has truly been born again.
2. The need for acceptance – deal with them as a Father deals with his own children. It is essential that
Christian feels free to share his doubts, fears & personal problems. Stick close to the person & love
him.
3. The need for love – Jn. 15:12 spiritual parents are to love their children as Christ loved them; this love
is the basic necessity for successful parenthood. Christ-like love is the foundation of all attempts to give
parental care to spiritual babies. Such love involves laying down one’s life for another, 1 Jn.3:16, will
never regrets the time, cost or sacrifice necessary in bringing up spiritual children. Time must be spent
with the new convert to get to know him & to love him. Apply the tlc (tender loving care).
4. The need for food – spiritual babies need to be fed regularly & to be fed with the right spiritual
formula for infant feeding, the “milk of the word” 1 Pet.2:2. Give the new believer the food in 2 ways:
First, you must teach him the Word, second, teach him how to feed himself.
5. The need for protection – new lives is tender & fragile, & must be protected from disease & harm.
They need protection from false teaching & a variety of attacks by the enemy. Satan will try to entice
him back into the old paths. Satan’s first aim is to separate the convert from the word, to starve him
into weakness & to keep him from availing himself of God’s protection. One of the major duties of a
spiritual parent is to teach his child how to meet temptations with the Word of God. Also teaches
protection by own example, through association the child absorbs the same spiritual habits w/c have
brought victory to the parent. A child also protected by instruction & warning given before he has to
meet a situation of possible danger. He needs to be disciplined & to be rebuked for disobedience but
must be given in love, personally, & privately and must be centered on the commandments of God w/c
have been broken.
6. The need for fellowship – he has been born into a family & he needs the fellowship of his brothers &
sisters in Christ. We need each other.
7. The need for training – parental care always involves training the baby. The new believer needs to be
taught not only the doctrines but also how to apply them in his daily life & how to teach them to
others. The test of successful training is the convert’s stability under pressure & their ability to live in
victory over sin. Training of the new believer focus on the “how to” of things. They need to learn how
to:
a. how to have a time of morning prayer
ACTS is useful in person get started in prayer
b. how to do Bible reading & Bible study
c. how to memorize the word of God
d. how to share the Gospel
Being an example is one of the best way to teach another person.
The Prime Qualities of Growth
1. Fellowship with Christ – the great hallmark with men & women of God through the ages has been their
close walk & intimacy with Christ Jesus. Pray for their longing for the Word of god & enjoy it. Help him to
develop their desire by: telling him why you yourself have fellowship with Christ daily. Share him what you
have gotten from your own time w/the Lord.
2. Consistency & Faithfulness – help him see the need for daily communion with God, daily feeding on the
Word. 2 Pet.1:4 spiritual dimension of our lives needs regular spiritual nourishment. Give him small, bite-sized
assignments in the Word that you know will be a blessing to him. Have a quiet time w/him. Check up on him &
encourage him periodically.
When do we begin the follow-up process?
As we start this work, we need to begin with the end in mind. We need to think about what our end goal is for
these people. Do we want them to just hear the Gospel? Or would we like to see their life changed & them
fellowshipping in the church?
The Process – how to follow-up:
a. Start by praying for the person even before you meet them.
b. Contact him/her & make appointment to visit or make schedules for meetings, ask permission first.
c. Share the Basic Steps for Christian Living (our booklet).
What to do at each session: 4 Ws
Welcome – know him better & make him feel free or icebreaker 5 mins. (break all reservations)
Worship – allow the H.S. to move but only 5 mins. to worship as possible.
Word – share the basic doctrines of the Bible. You can take turns to read the notes. At every Bible reference
ask him to find it in the Bible & read it aloud. When you come to questions, ask him what he thinks a possible
answer might be, take time. You don’t have to complete a study each time you meet, make sure they
understand before you move on.
Work – time to pray for their needs, family & others and time encourage them to invite friends next meeting.
Other points to consider:

 Build relationship, be a real friend.

 Keep each session to 30-45 minutes.
 Every visit begin by asking them how are they, if they have needs to pray for.
 Start & end in every visit with prayer.
 Do not be critical with their behavior, remember they are new babes.
 Make arrangements for your next study session before you leave.
 The relationship is more important than the material.
 Demonstrate the assignment that is given and do it with them throughout the week
 Be a friend – hang out for fun
 If visitation/meeting is not possible, still connect with them thru text messages & invite them to
church.
 As much as possible: only men minister to men & women to women

Final notes:

 This takes time, patience and lots of prayer – so it’s important that you yourself are growing in the
Lord.
 Commitment is required! Be faithful!
 Just love them as Christ loves.

PHILIPPIANS 1:3-6

LESSON # 5 JESUS’ PRINCIPLES OF DISCIPLESHIP
I. SELECTION – Lk. 6:13
- Enlist men who could bear witness to His life and carry on His work. No haste in the selection.

 Men willing to learn or teachable

 Men who have potential of leadership – disciples of Jesus: impulsive, temperamental, easily offended
& had all the prejudices of their environment.
 Men who are honest and willing to confess their need.
Jesus concentrated upon a few because the more concentrated the size of the group being taught, the greater
the opportunity for effective instruction. He devoted most of His remaining life on earth to these few disciples.
He literally staked His whole ministry upon them. The principle of concentration exemplified in the ministry of
Jesus was not new with Him. It had always been God’s strategy from the beginning. But he never neglected
the masses. Jesus did all that any man could be asked to do & more to reach the multitudes. Why did Jesus
deliberately concentrate his life upon comparatively so few people? Had he not come to save the world? Jesus
was not trying to impress the crowd, but to usher in a Kingdom. This meant that he needed men who could
lead the multitudes. Mark 6:34
This principle of selectivity & concentration is engraved in the universe & will bring results no matter who
practices it. It will be slow, tedious, painful & unnoticed by men at first but the end result will be glorious.
II. ASSOCIATION – Matt. 28:20
Jesus stayed with them. He maintained a constant ministry to His disciples by having them with him.
The disciples were close at hand to observe & to listen.

 He stayed with them constantly as much as possible.

 Praying with them
 Studying the Bible with them
 Answering questions, clarifying the truth
 Seeking together to help others.
III. CONCENTRATION – Matt. 11:29

 He required obedience
Disciples means learners & to obey is to learn. No one can ever be a leader until first he has
learned to follow a leader. No one will follow a person in whom he has no trust, nor will he sincerely
take the step of faith unless he is willing to obey what his leader says. Following Jesus means the
surrender of one’s life to the Master in absolute submission to his sovereignty. And complete forsaking
of sin. The old thoughts patterns, habits, & pleasures of the world had to be conformed to the new
disciplines of the Kingdom of God. Matt.5:1-7; 29. Absolute obedience to the will of God.
 He required loyalty – John 6:60;66-68
 He required sacrifice
He was training leaders for the Kingdom and if they were going to be fit vessels of service, they
were going to have to pay the price. One simply could not follow Jesus without turning loose of the
world.
 He required focus – Lk. 9:61-62
IV. IMPARTATION – Jn. 20:22
He gave himself away. The disciples were to give themselves in selfless devotion to those whom the
Father loved & for whom their Master died Jn. 17:23. They were to give as freely as they had received & they
were to love one another as He loved them. Love is the only way to win the free response of men & this is
possible only by the presence of Christ w/in the heart. The superhuman work to which they were called
demanded supernatural help – an endowment of power from on High.
V. DEMONSTRATION – JN. 13:15
He showed them how to live.

 The practice of prayer – He just keep praying until at last the disciples asked him to teach them
 Using Scripture – his own personal devotion
 Soul winning practically everything that Jesus said & did had some relevance to their work of
evangelism either by explaining a spiritual truth or revealing to them how they should deal with men.
He did not ask anyone to do or be anything which first He had not demonstrated in His own life. People
are looking for a demonstration not an explanation. I do, you watch.
Knowledge unapplied to living can become a stumbling-stone to further truth.
VI. DELEGATION – Matt. 4:19
He assigned them work. His method was to get the disciples into a vital experience with God & to show
them how He worked before telling them they had to do it.
A. Briefing instructions
1. He first reaffirmed His purpose for their lives.
2. To find the most susceptible audience to hear the message.
3. As to their support, they were to trust God to supply their needs.
B. Follow His method
To concentrate their time upon the most promising individuals in each town who would thereby be able
to follow up their work after they had gone.
C. Expect hardship
D. A dividing Gospel – Evangelism is not an optional accessory to our life. It is the heartbeat of all that we
are called to be & do. It is the commission of the church w/c gives meaning to all else that is undertaken
in the name of Christ.
The best way to be sure that this is done is to give practical work assignments & expect them to be carried out.
I do, you help. You do, I watch.
VII. SUPERVISION – Mk. 8:17
1. He kept check on them
His teaching rotated between instruction and assignment. He was helping them to understand the
reason for some previous action or getting them ready for some experience. His questions, illustrations,
warnings & admonitions were calculated to bring out those things that they needed to know in order to
fulfill His work w/c was the evangelization of the world. Jesus was alert to make experiences teach
truth & to caution the disciples against pride.
2. Continuous review and application
3. Lessons on patience
4. The principle observed.
Jesus checked up on the actions & reactions of his disciples as they faced various difficult situations.
On- the- job training:

 I do, you watch

 I do, you help
 You do, I watch
 You do, I go
It is crucial that those engaging in the work of evangelism have personal supervision & guidance until such
time as they are matured enough to carry on alone.
VIII. REPRODUCTION – Jn. 15:16
A. He expected them to reproduce

 Bec. Jesus had built into His disciples the structure of a church that would challenge & triumph over all
the powers of death & hell.
 The significance of human initiative in bringing it to pass
 The ultimate victory was certain, Matt.16:18
 His whole evangelistic strategy, the fulfillment of His very purpose in coming in to the world, dying on
the cross – depended upon the faithfulness of His chosen disciples to reproduce. This was the way His
church has to win through the dedicated lives of those who knew the Savior well that His Spirit and
method constrained them to tell others. This is the way the Gospel would conquer.
B. The Great Commission

 Is not merely to go to the ends of the earth preaching the Gospel, nor to baptize a lot of converts, nor
to teach them the teaching of Christ, but to “make disciples” – to build men like themselves who were
so constrained(giharian) by the commission of Christ that they not only followed, but led others to
follow His way.
 The world is lost & blind in sin, the only hope for the world is for men to go to them w/the Gospel of
Salvation & having won them to the Savior, not to leave them, but to work w/them faithfully, patiently,
painstakingly, until they become fruitful Christians savoring the world about them w/the redeemer’s
love.
 It is not enough to rescue the perishing, though it is imperative, nor it is sufficient to build up new born
babes in the faith of Christ, although this too is necessary if the first fruit is to endure, in fact, it is not
sufficient just to get them out winning souls. What really counts in our work is the faithfulness with w/c
our converts go out & make leaders out of their converts, not simply more followers. Our work is never
finished until it has assured its continuation in the lives of those redeemed by the Evangel.
 The test of any work of evangelism thus is not what is seen in the moment, but in the effectiveness
with which the work continues in the next generation. The Church should measure its success in how
many Christians are actively winning souls & training them to win the multitudes.
 It is not better methods, but better men – men who know their Redeemer from something more than
hearsay – men who see His vision & feel His passion for the world – men who are willing to be nothing
in order that He might be everything – men who want only for Christ to reproduce His life in & through
them according to His own good pleasure.
THE MASTER & YOUR PLAN
What is the plan of your life?
The plan is the organizing principle around w/c the aim of life is carried out.
1. Begin with a few
Don’t begin with a great number, the best work is always done w/ a few.
2. Stay together
The only realistic way to effect this is by being together, to let them see us in action so as to feel our
vision.
3. Give them time
It takes time.
4. Group meetings
Cell group meetings
5. Expect something from them
Everyone can do something. At first assign them a smaller task, they must be given some way to express
the things w/c they have learned.
6. Keep them going
Meet w/them & hear how things are going. Questions w/c have arisen in their experience must be
answered, carnal attitudes & reactions need to be detected early & dealt with, also offensive personal habits,
unfounded prejudices & anything else that would obstruct.
7. Help them carry their burdens
Anticipate their problems & prepare them for what they will face. We have to accept the burden of their
immaturity until such time as they can do it for themselves.
8. Let them carry on
9. Spiritual experience above all
They need to be thoroughly established in the faith & the infilling of the Holy Spirit will be sufficient to meet
the challenge.

IS THIS YOUR VISION?

The world is desperately seeking someone to follow. Will he be a man who knows the way of
Christ, or will he be one like themselves leading them only on into greater darkness? The destiny
of the multitudes depends on us.
LESSON # 6 BASIC LAWS THAT GOVERN SPIRITUAL MULTIPLICATION & DEVELOPING THE
CHARACTERS OF A DISCIPLE

Basic Laws that Govern Spiritual Multiplication

1. Law of Relationship
More consistently we walk in the fullness of the H. S. keeping in close contact with Him thru’ the
Word & prayer the deeper will become our fellowship w/Christ. Relationship with God is our priority &
pleasure.
2. Law of Love
a. Passion for God – Mt. 22:37-39
-passion for God is our desire to serve Him & this is by faith & conviction not by emotion.
- love God & love others cannot be separated
b. Compassion for the people – Mt. 9:35-37
-spiritual maturity or growth is measured in our relationship w/people, how do we
relate w/them w/love & compassion
3. Law of Commitment
- A person must be committed to reaching future generations for Christ
- No man will stay committed to a vision w/o faith because only a man of faith sees the future
as the present. Claiming the promises of God daily keeps a man committed to the task to w/c
he has been called. All of God’s giants have been weak men who did great things for God
because they reckoned God being w/them. God is looking for men to carry out His work
(principle of multiplication) resting on His faithfulness & claiming His Word.
4. Law of Concentration
- Lk. 9:57-62 in order to have spiritual multiplication you must pay the price, willing to sacrifice,
willing to give up everything for God, stay focus & with determination no turning back, no
hesitation.
Developing the Characters of a Disciple:
1. Abiding in the truth – Jn.15:5
- Embraces the truth & finds it liberating power
- Knowing the truth is the prerequisite to spiritual freedom
2. He bears fruit – Jn. 15:16
- The reality of discipleship is tested by the fruit the believer bears.
- Fruit-bearing is inherent in the life implanted in the heart by one’s relationship to Christ
3. The interests of Christ must be first in his life.
4. Cross-bearing – Lk.14:27 does not hesitate to walk the road of hardship or even poverty for the
Master’s sake. He knows by faith that Christ will meet his need.
5. Discipline
6. Obedient
7. Loyal
8. Servant-like spirit – Mk. 10:45 willing to serve others
9. Desire to work as volunteer – Jn. 10:17 your choice & decision to work.
10. Devoted – zealous
