Garbo Short Film Mechanics and Guideline

SHORT FILM MAKING CONTEST

PRIDE 2021 Theme: “The Fight Continues…”

MECHANICS & GUIDELINES :

1.) The competition is open to all amateur film makers, videographers,


students, or anyone interested in the video production WHO ARE
part/members of the LGBTQ+ community and bonafide residents of the
Province of Agusan del Norte.

2.) Must like the official Facebook page and subscribe to the Youtube
Channel of GARBO Agusan del Norte.

3.) Safety and health protocols must be prioritized throughout the duration
of the filming.

4.) The team should be composed of 5 to 15 members. Participants must at


least be eighteen (18) years old or older to join, including the production
personnel.

5.) The short film should be a minimum of 10 minutes and a maximum of


15 minutes long, including the film’s end credits.

6.) Explicit scenes are to be avoided as much as possible. Scenes that


contain sex, nudity, verbal and physical abuse, foul words and the likes,
should be provided with censorship.

7.) The film must include a disclaimer or a trigger warning at the beginning,
if and when it contains contents such as suicide, self-harm, sexual and
physical abuse/harassment, and mental health related issues and
manifestations.

8.) Each team MUST create a trailer for their short film at least 30 secs to 1
minute long and is to be sent together with their final entry.

9.) All clips used in the film should be originally covered by the team to
avoid petitions during the competition. The entire team will be held
accountable for any issues that may arise with regards to originality and
authenticity of the clips used.

10.) All participants must follow YouTube Community Guidelines and


Policy to avoid future problems when posting on the platform.

11.) Participants can utilize English, Filipino, and/or Cebuano as their


medium of speech in the film. The film must be provided with English
subtitles.

12.) Submission of entries will be on June 1-15, 2020, either personally


or through email. Screening of entries for the top 6 finalist will be based
on the criteria, excluding the criteria on Youtube views and ‘Likes’.

13.) Entries must include the following information upon submission:

a. Name of the Team and its Members


b. Municipal Affiliated Organization/Association
c. Complete Address
d. Contact Number

14.) The Top 6 finalist will be notified prior to posting of entries on the
official Youtube Channel of GARBO Agusan del Norte. The criteria on
Youtube views and ‘likes’ will then take effect once the six (6) entries are
posted.

15.) All entries shall become an exclusive property of GARBO - ADN.

16.) The decision of the board of judges will be final and irrevocable.

CRITERIA FOR JUDGING :

• CREATIVITY AND ORIGINALITY – 30%


• CINEMATOGRAPHY – 20%
• EDITING – 20%
• RELEVANCE TO THE THEME – 20%
• YOUTUBE VIEWS AND “LIKE” REACTIONS – 10%

17.) The short film entry garnering the highest average ratings will be
proclaimed as winners. The judges will select six (6) entries from all
entries, and will be accorded the following prizes:

• 1st Place - 15,000.00 Php


• 2nd Place - 10,000.00 Php
• 3rd Place - 7,000.00 Php
• Consolation (3) - 3,500.00 Php each

• LGBTQ+ members
• LGBTQ+ Love Story (Queer Love)
• HIV Short-Film
