QUESTION 1: CASE STUDY


Sanjay is a hotel manager. He needs to introduce new staff shift patterns for the hotel’s
employees because the airline which used his hotel has changed a number of its flight times and
needs to be able to book in several of their staff in the middle of the night. This will particularly
affect the kitchen staff because airline employees will require food. He has decided just to tell
them about the changes and if they do not like it they can get another job elsewhere and he will
recruit and train some new staff.

effectively and from this comes increased profits. Employees are a firm’s greatest asset.
