Proposed title for my project:

What is your inquiry question that interests you for further research? It should be a question that
connects with a purpose, passion or personalized area of interest for you. This is a question that
you cannot just google an answer for. Please see examples from your Capstone booklet.
My inquiry question is:

How could training teens keep them occupied and active during the ongoing pandemic?

Rationale/context: Detail your reasons for choosing this inquiry question. Explain WHY you are
choosing to investigate this topic as a major area of focus. How does this area of inquiry connect
to your passion(s), purpose? Why is it of personal interest to you?

I have chosen this inquiry question because the Covid-19 pandemic has affected almost
everyone in the world and has forced a lot of people to stay in a lockdown. Many teen athletes
have had to stay inside of their houses because of the lockdown and have not been able to
really train as much as they used to. This connects to my passion because I am also trying to
get offers for scholarships for soccer and I have been playing soccer at a semi-professional
level for all my life.

Background: What background knowledge/connections/prior learning do you have in this


area of inquiry?

I have a lot of background knowledge and connections in this area of inquiry. I have been
playing soccer for all my life and have played on many different clubs and played with many
different players all at a high level.

Career connections: What is your intended career area at this point in time? What
connections does this inquiry question have to your life, academic and/ or career goals?

At this point I am going to study a business related occupation at BCIT, but am still currently
searching for opportunities to play soccer at a University level in Canada and even in Europe.

Interdisciplinary and core competencies connections: What subject areas and core
competencies will be connected with your project? Outline and explain the connections.

The biggest core competency that my project will be directed to is the Personal & Awareness
Responsibility. My project will affect all three of the topics in the selected core competency.
My project will also be directed towards the Personal & Cultural Identity core competency. It
will mostly focus on the Personal Strengths and Abilities. It will connect to them by helping the
viewers find their personal strengths and pushing yourself to the maximum both physically and
mentally.

I will be using and creating a YouTube channel to present my project when


completed.

Description of my Capstone project. Specific Project Details of the Capstone Project: what
will you research, create, study, produce, solve, investigate? What product will be produced
at the end of this project for evaluation. Write a one-page description outlining your
proposal.

I will be researching how to create a YouTube channel and how to attract regular viewers.
I will also be looking at other big YouTube channels to see what kind of videos they produce
and how they attract that many subscribers and what they do to help the viewers.
I will also be researching what do University coaches look for in a player to get recruited.
My final project will be a complete YouTube channel with different playlists about mental and
physical aspects and training.

Resources/ Technology/Skills: Make an assessment of the resources, technology and


skills you will need to be able to complete this project. What is your plan to be able to
access/learn all of the resources necessary to achieve completion of this project? Detail

your plans.

I will be needing a laptop, camera, a field, a quiet room to record audio footage, a soccer ball,
and a editing app.
I already have all the resources I need to be able to access and already have learned all the
physical skills, I just need to do some research for the mental skills needed.

Mentors/Community Connections: What types of mentor(s)/community connections will


you need to help you complete your capstone project? How will your mentor(s) help you?
What is your plan to access the mentorship/community connections necessary for this
project?

I will be using one of my coaches as my mentor. He has been coaching me for a couple years
and has been playing soccer for a very long time. He has taught me a lot about soccer and
will show me what kinds of drills I should be using to display on my channel.

Project limitations: What are some project limitations and potential obstacles that you foresee
that might affect progress with your Capstone Project?

There could be some problems with figuring out how to edit the videos and put in the audio
over the video but with some research I should be able to figure it out fairly easily.
Also might be a little difficult to find field space to record but there are plenty of fields around
me so I should also be able to find some space to work.

Other considerations: List and detail any other related information/ considerations about
your project that you feel should be included in your project proposal.
