Checklist and Training Setup Instructions

All installations require Administrative privileges.

A. INSTALL QUICKTEST PROFESSIONAL

… 1. Install QuickTest Professional 9.0 • Run setup.exe from the CD-ROM.


according to the installation instructions.
• Accept all defaults until installation is complete.

• Remove the check from “Register Now” box.

B. VERIFY THE FUNCTIONING OF THE TRAINING APPLICATION

… 1. Invoke QuickTest Professional. • From the Start Menu, choose:

Programs > QuickTest Professional > QuickTest Professional

This launches the QuickTest Professional program.


… 2. Use default Add-Ins. • The Add-In Manager appears.

• Leave checkboxes blank next to add-ins

• Choose Blank Test from the QuickTest Professional window.

• Close the “What’s New in QuickTest Professional” window.

• Click OK.

• From the Start menu, select :


… 3. Launch the Mercury Flights application.
Programs > QuickTest Professional > Sample Applications > Flight.
… 4. Verify that the Flight application is

C. CREATE A SAMPLE RECORDING

… 5. Start recording. • In the QuickTest Professional window, click on the red “Record” button.

… 6. Use default Add-Ins. • Choose “Record and run test on any open web browser” in the Record and
Run Settings window.

• Enter the login name: “mercury”

• Enter the password: “mercury”

… 7. Verify recording. • The login steps should be recorded and appear in the Keyword View of
QuickTest Professional.

… 8. Stop recording.
• Click on the black “Stop” button.
