Adult Leader Training Framework

 Scout Promise & Law
 Warrant Application and Procedure
 Delivery / Support of Adult Training Scheme
 Marketing Aims Leader’s Warrant
 Adult Training Plan

Adult Development through Training Opportunities

Initial Practical Advanced


(This may take 3 – 12 Months) (To competently guide a youth (An opportunity to gain
through their Award Scheme) advanced leadership skills)

9 hrs 8 hrs + 25 hrs +

 National Programmes (1 hr)  Skills included in own Section’s  Complete 12 months practical
 Their use Youth Award Scheme. (8 hrs) experience in SCOUTS New
 Resources to deliver and Zealand.
 Youth Award Scheme (1 hr)  First Aid Course*
 Cornerstones  Attend SCOUTS Advanced
 Overall scheme Managers: (8 hrs) Personal Development (SAPD)
 Section scheme  Recruitment and Retention Course run either over
 Built into programmes  Administration & Support three days as residential
 Record keeping  Welcoming future Leaders (25 hrs)
 Badge Presentation  Interviewing skills. or
 Section Organisation (2 hrs)
 Ceremonies and 10 nights consecutively
 Patrols / teams etc. (30 hrs)
 Games  First Aid Course*
 Transition
 Safety (5 hrs) * Either a NZQA certified:
 Leading Youth Workplace or Outdoor First Aid
 Risk Management course, appropriate to the
 Youth Safety activities you will carry out.
