Team Member Skill Inventory

(Areas individual members can contribute/want to develop)

Desiree- I have been able to develop some PowerPoint skill during my time at UOP online course and
enjoy doing them. I also like to proof read final team projects. I am dedicated to team assignments and
like good communication between team members. Good typing skills. _____________________________
Kimberly- I am a writer by nature and attain excellent proofreading skills. I am not a logical person,
more of an adventurer. I am a positive person by nature and will do anything to be a Winner on team
assignments. I am a great peacemaker and able to communicate with anyone on any level. I am not a
follower, I was born to be a Leader, but know that I know when to be an Indian not a Chief. I am willing
to learn and grow to make Team C a success. Whatever I am assigned to, I JUST DO IT! I ask questions
if I don’t understand. There is no I in Team. I would like to become more computer savvy, especially
since I have a new laptop, and would like to learn more about PowerPoint. I am a great listener as well as
a very organized person who manages time very well.___________________________________________
La Rhonda: Good with meeting deadlines ahead of scheduled times. Time management is another good
point. I do not like to procrastinate.
Rachel- I am good with computer programs such as Microsoft word and powerpoint. I have lots of
experience with APA format since this is one of my last classes. I work well with other and I am team
oriented._______________________________________________________________________________

Learning Team Goals
(May include project assignment goals, group process goals, quality level goals, etc.)

Desiree- Our team will work together by planning assignments, assigning portions of projects,
communicate clearly on due dates or one member is having difficulty completing his or her portion. To
gain confidence and knowledge with each assigned project.
Kimberly- I second that nomination as Team C will work together by planning assignments, assigning
portions of projects, communicating precisely on due dates, and will aid anyone who is having difficulty
completing their portion for Team Success. I desire also to gain confidence and knowledge with each
team assignment and team member. The more I learn the better managerial skills I will attain, and grow
personally as a productive individual in today’s society._________________________________________
La Rhonda: Team assignments due on Monday should be completed on Friday, this allows for the person
compiling the paper to do so and repost for each team member to review and give feedback by Sunday
afternoon. Each team member should use the CWE to check for errors before submitting to the team form.
The goal for plagiarism is not to have more that 3% on any paper turned in for a final product. Each team
member is expected to do a plagiarism report before submitting their paper to the team member compiling
the paper. If there are changes to be made to another team member’s paper and that team member does
not make the changes, it is not another team member responsibility, the team member’s name will be
taken off the paper and the paper submitted either without that team member’s portion or another team
member will complete the part for a final product.
Rachel- I agree that our team will work together to complete assignments ahead of schedule. Every team
member will communicate well with the group about questions or concerns that they are having. ________
______________________________________________________________________________________

What are potential barriers to the achievement of these goals?

Desiree- Potential barriers may include our different schedules, different communication styles, and being
able to problem solve. The lack of contribution of a team member or members will develop conflict
within a team___________________________________________________________________________
Kimberly- Potential barriers to achieve these goals are time zones, work schedules, everyday life trials
and tribulations, and lack of communication to deal with problem-solving issues._____________________
La Rhonda: Failure to communicate and/or complete individual assigned team tasks on time. Allowing
others on the team to do work dedicated to another person. Last minute posts for the team, leaving not
enough time to complete the assignment and review for each team member’s approval.
Rachel- Potential barriers include distance and the lack of face to face communication with other
members of the group. Differences in schedules and in personal goals and priorities.

Ground Rules
Meeting schedule, locations, attendance expectations, agenda, assignment completion, communication
methods, etc.

07/03
Desiree: Completing assignments at agreed upon time or notification to the team of problem in doing so.
Early team assignments with clearly defined team member portions of the assignment due. Keeping
in mind that individual team member efforts reflect on the grades of the team as a whole, and make
your best effort. Use team majority to decide any conflicts that may arise.

La Rhonda: Team leaders should be agreed upon. The team leader would be responsible for assigning
portions of the assignment; to include word count, and date in which to post, etc. Everyone check in as
often as possible to let team know of any conflicts. To inform the group of any problem / issue that might
arise ASAP. To be fair in responding, just in case some members of the learning team need to take up
slack for another member – to be sure that there is enough time to get the assignment done.
Professionalism and appropriate language / keyboard tone in all communications will be used at all times.

Conflict Management
What are potential conflicts that might arise among or between team members during this course? How
will team members deal with these and other conflicts?

Desiree- conflict may occur if lack of communication, lack of effort in project completion, and lack of
participation in decision making of any team member. Some students may have different interpretations
of an assignment this is why communication is important and to state your point of view throughout a
project.

La Rhonda: Conflicts that may result are usually due to lack of communication, lack of participation, or
poorly stated words to another team member. Late on team assignments while other members of the team
are counting on the late team member. Last minute posts late evening for review. First and foremost,
communicate: Communication resolves a lot of little issues before they become huge issues. In your
communication, remember that each person has his/her own personality and your style may or may not be
like another person’s. Focus on the assignment and completing our assigned tasks. If there is a problem
that cannot be resolved by the team, then the team or a team member should seek the advice of the
professor. We are all adults and are expected to behave, but when conflict arises it must be handled with
good team ethic
