Warning notice system
This manual contains notices you have to observe in order to ensure your personal safety, as well as to prevent
damage to property. The notices referring to your personal safety are highlighted in the manual by a safety alert
symbol, notices referring only to property damage have no safety alert symbol. These notices shown below are
graded according to the degree of danger.
DANGER
indicates that death or severe personal injury will result if proper precautions are not taken.
WARNING
indicates that death or severe personal injury may result if proper precautions are not taken.
CAUTION
indicates that minor personal injury can result if proper precautions are not taken.
NOTICE
indicates that property damage can result if proper precautions are not taken.
If more than one degree of danger is present, the warning notice representing the highest degree of danger will be
used. A notice warning of injury to persons with a safety alert symbol may also include a warning relating to property
damage.
Qualified Personnel
The product/system described in this documentation may be operated only by personnel qualified for the specific
task in accordance with the relevant documentation, in particular its warning notices and safety instructions. Qualified
personnel are those who, based on their training and experience, are capable of identifying risks and avoiding
potential hazards when working with these products/systems.

Note
When printing the file, the left and right margins are set to a width of 25 millimeters for A4 portrait
format.
Prerequisites

Working with a project in TIA Portal V16, which was created in TIA Portal V16 Update 1 and inclusively
Test Suite Advanced
● Opening the project in V16 is possible without Test Suite package installed.
● In TIA Portal V16, the application will crash with the below mentioned scenarios:
– When you click "Overview" window.
– When you click “Online&Diagnostics“ in portal view
– Working (Copy/Paste/Delete/Drag and Drop) with user folders available under “Libraries
(Project/Global) -> Master copies“ which has rule sets / test cases in it.
● Test case execution will be cancelled by the system, if the user tries to run the test case
which uses Data blocks / Data block members / tags defined using the characters other than
English alphabets, Numeric and Special characters like !, @, #, $, %, ^, &, *, (, ), _, {, }, [, ],
|, \, :, ;, ", ’, <, ?, /.

Styleguide Usage
● Navigating to Block property page using “Go to” available in violation messages which are
stored in a log file under “Common data\Logs” is not supported.
● Shortcut <Ctrl+G> for navigation from Test Results tab / log file will not respond for the first
time.
● It is not possible to copy rule sets / rules from one TIA Portal instance to another TIA
instance / Reference projects.
● Changing the UI language will not reflect the change automatically in the editors that are
open in available undo/redo text messages and messages available in “Test Results” tab.
It is required user to re-open the editor.
● TIA Portal application will crash when the user performs “Autofill” to add the rows about the
selected line and executes undo and redo operation.
● Expand All option provided in the rule set editor tool bar will expand only for the rules which
are in visibility.
