Note: Write in clear and legible handwritten on the answer sheets. Attempt all questions and
answer the question in given order.

Q1:
(a) A box contains 4 bad and 6 good tubes. Three are drawn out together. One of them
is tested and found to be good. What is the probability that third one is bad?

(b) The probability that A will be dead within 10 years to come is 5/7 & for B it is 7/9
Find out the probability that

(i) Both of them will die


(ii) A will be alive and be will be dead
(iii) B will be alive and A will be dead
(iv) Both of them will be alive in 10 years to come

(c) A can hit a target four times in 5 shots, B three times in 4 shots, C twice in three
shots. They fire a volley. What is the probability that two shots at most hit

(a) How many ways are there four 8 men and 5 women to stand in a line such that no
one men and one women stand next to each other.

(b) How many ways are there to put five different employees into three indistinguishable
offices, when each office can contain at most four employees
