LIMITATIONS:
No. Description
Measures against IPX/SPX activation delay:
1 Regardless of network protocol, TCP/IP and IPX/SPX could be used simultaneously
on conventional models. However, on this model, IPX/SPX activates approx. 90
seconds later than TCP/IP.
Effects of Spanning Tree-support Hub:
If the network is set as a loop, data keeps staying in this loop and efficiency of data
transfer might be decreased. In order to prevent this symptom, some hubs have the
function called "spanning tree". If this function is enabled, the device newly connected
to the hub can make data communication with network 10 to 50 seconds (time changes
due to the conditions) after the connection. When the machine enters 1W Sleep mode
and restores from the Sleep mode, the device electrically disconnects with the network
once. Therefore, if the machine connects with the spanning tree-installed hub, the
2 machine cannot communicate with the network for approximately 1 minute at a
maximum after restoring from 1W Sleep mode. For this reason, right after restoring
from the 1W Sleep mode, the following symptoms may occur: Device status cannot be
collected, printing cannot be made, and login using a login application cannot be
made. If such symptoms become a problem, perform the following operations.
- Using Additional Functions, set not to enter the 1W Sleep mode.
Common Settings > Energy Consumption in Sleep Mode > High
- Disable the spanning tree function of hub.
- Request users to use the hub which supports Rapid Spanning-Tree Protocol (RSTP)
that resolves such problems

software v11.xx or earlier to v2.0xx or later.
- If the numeric keys 2 and 8 or 1 and 7 are pressed and the main power is turned ON, the upgrade will
fail.

2. Upgrade system software v20.xx or later by pressing the numeric keys 2 and 8 and turning on the main
power can be done.
- However, pressing the numeric keys 1 and 7 and turning on the main power will not upgrade system
software v20.xx or later.
System software v25.xx or later can be upgraded by pressing the numeric keys 1 and 7 and turning on the
main power.
