Nepotists 3

IMDb has been going down the toilet in recent years. It's difficult to find a recent movie in which more than a half of the cast members didn't have influential parents / relatives / friends in the industry before they got their foot foot in the door. Nepotism is a growing problem in the film industry.

Nepotism: The Offspring Of Elitism
"It’s a running joke in Hollywood that every bellhop, busboy and waitress in LA is
working on being an actor, screenwriter, director - whatever. Every year, thousands flock
to the city where dreams are made… only to be passed over so someone’s niece can snag
a role without having to go through the audition process. Hooray for Hollywood!" - KC
Morgan.

So you're wondering why (American) movies have been going down the toilet in recent
years. There are several reasons, including the effects of Political Correctness which are
rampant and highly toxic, the decreasing IQs of the movie-goers themselves (a general
dumbing-down that has infiltrated all aspects of culture in the West), an over-reliance on
CGI, hence lessening efforts in finding solid scripts. But perhaps the most negative
impact stems from the exponentially growing nepotism. It is difficult to find a recent
movie in which more than a half of the cast members didn't have influential
parents/relatives/friends in the industry before they got their foot in the movie door.
(Ditto the film crews).

America, the "Land of Opportunity". Nowhere is this less evident than in Hollywood's
star-factories: film studios that increasingly - and relentlessly - hype low-grade material
that springs from the loins of the studio heads, their employees, their friends,
acquaintances and other show-biz colleagues. Hollywood - left-wing, anti-democratic,
and basically anti-American as it has become - has been working on crushing the notion
of the "American Dream" on a weekly basis with its biased propaganda nonsense. So it's
quite fitting that this decadent cocaine-sniffing movie factory, which is so anti-
opportunity and hypocritically anti-Capitalist (hence anti-incentive), would be the most
in-bred den of vipers in the known universe, a place in which a mantra of it's-who-you-
know-not-what-you-can-do has been ruling since day one.

One of the most vocal people when condemning the "rich are getting richer and the poor
poorer" trend are Hollywood's numerous liberals. In order for this trend to continue, you
need a lack of opportunities for the poor. Yet, these same "do-gooders" and left-wing
"friends of the downtrodden" refuse to lead by example. On the contrary, they are the
ones who behave like the "Capitalist elite" they criticize so much, barely allowing any
outsiders to set foot into their closed family & friends circle. This hypocrisy is so self-
evident you literally need to be blind not to see it.

The list focuses almost solely on actors and directors - hence it doesn't even take into
consideration the vast number of bad scripts that have been a result of nepotistic
infiltration! Nor does it include the plethora of nepotistic offspring that had appeared only
in several smaller roles in fairly meaningless productions. You can click on the bio of just
about any better-known actor older than 45 and you'll find that at least half of them have
kids who are either actors, producers, or working in film crews.

Tinseltown's anti-intellectual elitist jet-set would have us believe that acting "talent" is
passed on genetically, but if you believe there is such a thing as an acting gene (or a
"charisma DNA") I would like to see some scientific proof of it. Besides, many nepotists
on this list come from non-movie, or at least non-acting, backgrounds.

They would also have us believe that nearly all of the world's acting talent has already
been collected from all corners of America, that the world's "acting talent pool" has dried
up, been totally depleted, so why even bother looking for potential new De Niros and
Pacinos amongst the "useless proletariat"? Hence the annoying trend of most of the
younger stars today being shoved down our throats having parents in powerful positions
in the business.

The acting world's "jet-set" in every country is infected with high levels of this
debilitating disease, not just in America, Britain and France (the cinematic leaders that
are more the focus here). On the other hand, take the ATP and WTA tennis tours as
contrast: how many kids of successful ex-pros are in the top 1000 (never mind higher)?
Almost none. Or are we meant to be believe that athletic ability does not transfer itself
genetically, while this fictional "acting gene" does? This little fact tells us something
about how "tough" it is to be a movie/TV actor: you learn someone's lines and then recite
them while pretending to be someone else: not exactly rocket science, hence why
movie/TV nepotism is so rampant. However, actors do require a certain level of charisma
in order to be interesting to the viewers, something nepotists by-and-large lack. You can
push a script into a nepotist, but you can't pull out the non-existent charisma out of him.

You can usually smell a nepotist from a mile: usually below-average-looking, either
overacting or under-acting his/her part in a movie or TV show, and almost always this
annoying total lack of charisma. Blandness is their middle name. Without their family
connections and wealth, some of these people would have ended up flipping burgers or
selling dope on street corners.

In-bred, low-quality, but powerful dynasties have been in existence, or are being built as
we speak, in Hollywood: the Arquettes, the Spellings, the Coppolas, the Barrymores, the
Carradines, the Fondas, the Estevez's, and the list goes on. Parallels to
Communist/Marxist regimes (which most of these people support) are pretty obvious:
one of the most sure-fire signs of worsening decadence in any regime is when the tyrant's
sibling or offspring take over the reign after the despot himself croaks. Ditto Hollywood.
Nepotism is a societal disease, that much is certain, and muck like corruption it serves
only to ruin and destroy. Benefits don't exist - except of course for the perpetrators
themselves who merely seek to expand their fame, influence and bank accounts by
pushing their own brood into the (s)limelight. Nepotistic movie dynasties behave much
like mafias; several parallels there too...

Nevertheless, I don't want to create the impression that actors who aren't on this list are
off the hook. Many get their foot in the door through friends (e.g. Tobey Maguire through
Leo Di Caprio, Matt Damon through Ben Affleck, Rosamund Pike by knowing Chelsea
Clinton etc), or through couch-casting (I won't mention any names; you film-buffs know
very well who they are). Besides, I have left out many nepotists that I consider solid (and
the very few that are excellent), at least compared to the bland entries here.

And keep in mind: most younger actors who aren't on the list, i.e. don't stem from show-
biz backgrounds, in the vast majority of cases come from very affluent, upper-class
families. Just another way in which "friend-of-the-downtrodden" Hollywood
discriminates against those it supposedly loves. My rough estimate would be that far less
than 1% of all actors come from working-class/blue-collar families. In fact, you won't
even find many non-nepotist actors from middle-class backgrounds these days, the vast
majority stemming from the upper-class. It is in fact a very exclusive club. (Btw, this list
isn't about class inequality; essentially it's about one of the factors that is ruining movies,
i.e. nepotism, but I thought it worth a mention.)

It would seem that auditions serve very little purpose in Hollywood (and elsewhere),
except to weed out the worst from the bad. A typical high-profile Hollywood audition is
mostly a who's-who of famous actors' children, all fighting for a shot at fame and cash. It
makes one wonder just how many truly bad nepotists never make it! Even a severely
talent-free case like David Arquette has beaten out several dozen failed nepotists, i.e. they
might be even worse than him. Scary (but fascinating) thought.

This list will be updated on a constant basis. New talentless nepotistic offspring are being
hyped by film studios as we speak... It is annoying to think that whenever a current movie
star gives birth to a child, we know that 30 years from now chances are great that it will
be infesting films with its mediocre presence, and be in contention to win various over-
hyped awards like the Oscars - that are looking increasingly like mutual "back-
scratching" sessions between colleagues than actually quality-based intentions to vote.

No, I am not a disgruntled, failed actor. (I would rather eat my own foot than engage
myself in such a demeaning, pointless profession.) I am merely a disgruntled movie-goer
who is finding it increasingly difficult to watch badly-written movies loaded with
unattractive women and uninteresting spineless men who can't deliver a line any better
than your average house parakeet.
HOWEVER, this list had been taken off, probably due to pressure exerted by one of the
nepotists listed, or by a deluded, rabid fan with no life. I have cleaned up the comments to
make sure no-one is "offended". (In this Politically Correct age, we let the "easily
offendable" run our lives and dictate the parameters of free speech to us.) Keep in mind,
ye easily offended, that the opinions laid out here are my own, with no-one forcing you to
either accept them or even acknowledge them.

EVIDENTLY, Hollywood doesn't want people to know about their dirty little secret.

NOTE ALSO: I don't expect anyone to agree with all the entries here. The point is for
you to get the general picture of how widespread this debilitating phenomenon is. As
hard as people try to defend the actors on this list, even they can't deny that this isn't
exactly a list brimming with De Niros, Gables, and Pacinos.

Nowadays anyone can succeed. This list proves it.

1.
David Schwimmer
Actor, Madagascar
Born in New York and raised in Los Angeles, Schwimmer was encouraged by a high
school instructor to attend a summer program in acting at Northwestern University.
Inspired by that experience, he returned to Northwestern where he received a bachelor's
degree in speech/theater. In 1988, along with seven other Northwestern graduates, he co-
founded Chicago's Lookingglass Theatre Company.
“ Son of Arlene Coleman-Schwimmer, a powerful Hollywood lawyer

I thought long and hard about whom to place at the very top of the list. The amazing
struggle for no.1 was incredible, exciting and long, but in the end I thought that David
richly deserves it.

Schwimmer went to high-school with a number of people on this list. They were
childhood chums. You'll find that most Hollywood actors that are being hyped in recent
years have known each other from day one. It is almost like a secret society, in some
ways... If you're an outsider, you might as well not even try.

Hands down the unfunniest man Hollywood has ever had. ” - fedor8

2.
Anjelica Huston
Actress, The Royal Tenenbaums
Anjelica Huston was born on July 8, 1951, to director and actor John Huston and Italian
American (from New York) prima ballerina Enrica (Ricki) Soma. Huston spent most of
her childhood overseas, in Ireland and England, and in 1969 first dipped her toe into the
acting profession, taking a few small roles in her father's movies...
“ her father is John Huston, overrated director
her mother is Enrica Soma, ballerina (don't laugh)
her grandfather is Walter Huston, actor

Who could possibly argue with me that Angelina wouldn't have ever come anywhere near
an audition without the massive support of her daddy... ” - fedor8

3.
Laura Dern
Actress, Jurassic Park
Laura Dern was born on February 10, 1967 into a moviemaking family - her father is
Bruce Dern and her mother is Diane Ladd. Dern was exposed to movie sets and the
movie industry from infancy, and obtained several bit parts as a child. Her parents
divorced when Dern was two and Dern lost contact with her father for several years as a
result...
“ Daddy is Bruce Dern and Mommy is Diane Ladd, both actors

David Lynch, shame on you.

Laura is the only actress who sounds and looks like she's laughing when she's crying.
Watch that legendary scene in "Blue Velvet" and you will know what I mean. ” - fedor8

4.
Jennifer Aniston
Actress, The One Where Monica Gets a Roommate
Born in Sherman Oaks, California, Jennifer Aniston spent a year of her childhood living
in Greece with her family. Her family then relocated to New York City where her
parents, John Aniston and Nancy Dow, divorced when she was 9. Jennifer was raised by
her mother and her father landed a role...
“ daughter of John Aniston, actor, and Nancy Dow, actress; Telly Savalas, actor, is her
godfather

In spite of a string of flops, Tinseltown keeps pushing her career. Nepotists often get
more shots at redemption after box-office bombs. Why? Because nearly everyone in
Hollywood wants nepotism to work, due to the fact that they all want to secure their own
kids' futures. This also explains why a nepotist nominee is more likely to win an Oscar
than a non-nepotistic nominee.

The good part is that she only gets to play in awful romantic comedies so avoiding her is
very easy. ” - fedor8
5.
Casey Affleck
Actor, Gone Baby Gone
“ younger brother of Ben Affleck, a popular South Park character

A soft voice and an almost apathetic screen presence didn't prevent him from being cast
in some grade-A productions. Whoever sees this man as a "cowboy" has only themselves
to blame... Miscasting has become more rampant in recent years, very often due to
nepotistic pressures. ” - fedor8

6.
Adrien Brody
Actor, The Pianist
The son of Hungarian-born photographer Sylvia Plachy and retired history professor
Elliot Brody, Adrien Brody grew up an only child in the Woodhaven section of Queens,
New York, where he accompanied his mother on assignments for the Village Voice. He
credits her with making him feel comfortable in front of the camera...
“ his Momsy is Sylvia Plachy, photographer for the "Village Voice"

The arrogance Hollywood has, in presuming that the audiences will accept any kind of
inane casting choice, such as trying to turn this skinny charisma-free actor into Arnold
Schwarzenegger's successor!

Dunno, maybe they'll cast him in the "Cary Grant Story" next... ” - fedor8
7.
Jason Schwartzman
Actor, Rushmore
“ member of the powerful, numerous, but mostly useless Coppola clan

EVERY single director who casts this hopeless "comedian" in his movies basically
admits to his OWN talentlessness and ineptness by doing so.

Jason is beyond awful. It's embarrassing to watch his futile attempts to be funny.

Needless to say, I see an Oscar for him some time in the next 20 years. ” - fedor8

8.
David Arquette
Actor, Never Been Kissed
The youngest of five, David Arquette was born in Virginia and is part of the illustrious
Arquette family whose work has spread over many generations. Like siblings Rosanna
Arquette, Patricia Arquette, Richmond Arquette and Alexis Arquette, David started
working at an early age and his first major role came...
“ part of the huge Arquette clan; 3rd-generation nepotist produce

I could even understand casting this unfunny "goofball" in terrible comedies and lame
horror parodies. However, when they cast him in a serious WW2 concentration camp
flick, that's where they crossed the line of decency. ” - fedor8

9.
Sofia Coppola
Producer, Somewhere
“ daughter of Francis Ford Coppola, a far better director than her - even when he was
directing "Bram Stoker's Dracula"

If anyone else had made "Lost In Translation", a very average quasi-indie flick, it would
gone pretty much unnoticed. However, the Coppola name inspires hordes of Hollywood's
nepotists to support a career that has no merit. "I scratch your back you scratch mine..."

Francis Ford Coppola is the Papa Smurf of Tinseltown's nepotism. ” - fedor8

10.
Daniel Radcliffe
Actor, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
Daniel Jacob Radcliffe was born on July 23rd, 1989 to Alan Radcliffe and Marcia
Gresham. He began performing in small school productions as a young boy. Soon
enough, he landed a role in David Copperfield, as the young David Copperfield. A couple
of years later, he landed a role as Mark Pendel in The Tailor of Panama...
“ Daddy: Alan Radcliffe, a literary agent
Momsy: Marcia Gresham, a casting director
You would think that at least when casting for a hugely expensive/ambitious project one
would try to get the best possible candidate for the lead role? Think again. Most viewers
(especially children) are totally uncritical, a fact not lost on producers and directors.

I think there should be a law prohibiting casting directors from pushing their own kids
into movies. I see a conflict of interest in there somewhere... This kid can't act to save his
life, plus the charisma of a chair. ” - fedor8

11.
Kristen Stewart
Actress, Twilight
Though most famous for her role as Bella Swan in the Twilight saga, Kristen Stewart has
been a working actor since her early years in Los Angeles, California. Her parents, John
Stewart and Jules Mann-Stewart, both work in film and television. Her mother is
Australian. The family includes three boys, her older brother Cameron Stewart, and two
adopted brothers Dana and Taylor...
“ Dad: John Stewart (no, not the CNN/MTV (un)funnyman), TV producer
Mom: Jules Stewart, script supervisor

She made it on various People's magazine sexiest/hottest lists. You see, when a nepotist
is so obviously unattractive or average-looking at best, their PR people pay high-profile
yellow-press magazines to hype their stars, which includes placing them on such
moronic, pointless lists which however get a lot of publicity (for unfathomable reasons).

Fortunately, I don't see a career for her after zillions of teeny-bopping hormones
surrounding the hype over that vampire soaper series have settled down. She will be
forgotten, or continue by making Z-movie horror flicks. ” - fedor8
12.
Kyra Sedgwick
Actress, Phenomenon
Kyra was born in New York and attended private schools. She made her professional
acting debut at 16 on the soap opera Another World. A graduate of USC, Kyra has
pursued a career that includes stage, screen and television. Kyra's reason for becoming an
actor is that it gives her the ability to be compassionate and to walk around in the shoes of
others...
“ cousin of actress Edie Sedgwick

Kevin Bacon, a horrible actor himself, was instantly drawn to her talentlessness and
married her. ” - fedor8

13.
Rumer Willis
Actress, Hostage
Rumer Glenn Willis was born August 16th, 1988. She was named after the British
novelist Rumer Godden. She made her debut at the age of 5 in the movie Now and Then
but was credited as Willa Glen. Her mother, Demi Moore, hired cameramen to video tape
her birth.
“ daughter of Demi Moore and Bruce Willis

She didn't even inherit her parents "face genes", so how can we expect her to have
inherited the much-touted-yet-non-existent "acting gene"? ” - fedor8
14.
Martha Plimpton
Actress, The Goonies
She has show biz in her blood. Martha Plimpton was born November 16, 1970, in New
York City to two actors: Keith Carradine and Shelley Plimpton. Martha began her career
at age 8, when her mom had a friend of hers, composer Elizabeth Swados, enroll her in an
actors' workshop. At age 10, she got a small part in Rollover, and also made a series of
Calvin Klein commercials...
“ absolutely beautiful daughter of Keith Carradine and Shelley Plimpton, both actors, and
granddaughter of John Carradine ” - fedor8

15.
Drew Barrymore
Actress, Scream
Charming, free-spirited and - above all - talented, Drew Barrymore has come a long way
since her big-screen breakout in Steven Spielberg's beloved sci-fi blockbuster, E.T.: The
Extra-Terrestrial. Despite a troubled and much-publicized adolescence during which she
appeared in only a handful of films, Barrymore's star was officially on the rise during the
mid-90s with notable appearances in Poison Ivy...
“ John Drew Barrymore (father), actor
Jaid Barrymore (mother), actress
John-Blythe Barrymore (half-brother), actor
Diana Barrymore (aunt), actress
John Barrymore (grandfather), actor
Dolores Costello (grandmother), actress
Maurice Costello (great-grandfather), actor
Mae Costello (great-grandmother), actress
Ethel Barrymore (great-aunt), actress
Lionel Barrymore (great-uncle), actor
Sophia Loren (godmother), actress
Anna Strasberg (godmother), actress
Steven Spielberg (godfather), bad director/producer ” - fedor8

16.
Kiefer Sutherland
Actor, 12:00 a.m.-1:00 a.m.
Kiefer Sutherland was born on December 21st, 1966 in London, England, UK to parents
Donald Sutherland and Shirley Douglas. He got his first film role in the movie Max
Dugan Returns. Sutherland's first major role was in the Canadian drama, The Bay Boy,
which earned Sutherland and director Daniel Petrie...
“ son of Donald Sutherland, 70s movie star

I avoid him like the plague. However, I bit the bullet once years ago and decided to watch
a very good film despite his presence ("Dark City"), and was amazed at how badly he
played his part: he delivered his lines like an asthmatic gasping for air. ” - fedor8

17.
Olympia Dukakis
Actress, Look Who's Talking
Long a vital, respected lady of the classic and contemporary stage and the epitome of
Mediterranean-styled weariness, this grand lady with the perpetually forlorn look and
worldly wise demeanor did not become a household name and sought-after film actress
until age 56 when she turned in a glorious, Oscar-winning perf as Cher's sardonic mother
in the romantic comedy Moonstruck...
“ cousin of failed Presidential candidate Michael Dukakis (lost to Bush Sr. in 1988)

Guess what year she won an Oscar?

1988.

Mere coincidence. ” - fedor8

18.
Colin Hanks
Actor, King Kong
“ Guess which Hanks we're talking about here?

Daddy: Tom Hanks, overrated PC actor

Hands down the blandest "actor" on this list. Wallpaper.

Peter Jackson, shame on you. ” - fedor8

19.
Mary Stuart Masterson
Actress, Fried Green Tomatoes
Mary Stuart Masterson started acting before the age of ten, when she appeared in The
Stepford Wives in 1975 with her father. Afterwards, at the direction of her parents, Mary
Stuart led a life outside of the limelight, attending school in New York. She appeared in a
few productions at New York's Dalton School...
“ Daddy: Peter Masterson, actor
Mommy: Carlin Glynn, actress

I will let the photo and her movies speak for themselves. ” - fedor8

20.
Kate Hudson
Actress, Almost Famous
Almost everyone who has spent time with Kate Hudson -including directors, family
members, co-stars and interviewers - is quick to comment on her ability to light up a
room. Through some combination of a winning smile, solid work ethic, and good old-
fashioned talent, the young actress has gone from indie beginner to Vanity Fair cover girl
in just three years...
“ daughter of Goldie Hawn, actress, and Bill Hudson, comic, her stepfather is Kurt
Russell

That the "comedy gene" does not exist is well-supported by Kate's case. This is a typical
average-looking American girl-next-door. Dime-a-dozen. You can find a million like her
without even having to look...

She turned down a role (while she was still just a nepotist-in-waiting) in "Escape from
L.A." because it starred Kurt Russell and she "didn't want to be professionally associated
with my dad. I just wanted to see if I could do the audition."
So what she was saying is basically she wanted to debut in a film without any family
relatives, so she could more easily fool the audiences into thinking she was a "free
electron".
Shame has many names, and one of them is "Nepotism", and Kate must have felt that
shame bone-deep. ” - fedor8

21.
Tori Spelling
Actress, Trick
The daughter of Candy Spelling and Hollywood producer Aaron Spelling. With her
father as the producer of many popular television shows in the 1970's, Tori had a taste for
fame. She appeared on many of her father's shows including, The Love Boat, T.J.
Hooker, Hotel, Fantasy Island...
“ daughter of Aaron Spelling, creator/producer of superior high-quality TV produce such
as "Beverly Hills 90210" and "Love Boat" ” - fedor8

22.
Paris Hilton
Self, Zoolander
Socialite Paris Hilton was born on February 17, 1981 in New York City into the Hilton
family and, along with her three younger siblings, is heir-apparent to the vast Hilton hotel
and real estate dynasty. Her childhood was spent in palatial dwellings in the priciest
neighborhoods on both coasts and featured a brief flirtation with the educational system...
“ This might help you understand how bad it's becoming. ” - fedor8

23.
Peter Fonda
Actor, Easy Rider
“ I guess I'll be forever mystified as to how a nerd riding a bike through America's deserts
could become such a huge cult film.

Son of Henry Fonda, actor, and brother of Jane Fonda, actress. ” - fedor8

24.
Courtney Love
Self, Clara Bow: Discovering the It Girl
The daughter of The Grateful Dead devotee and first manager Hank Harrison and
psychotherapist Linda Caroll, Courtney Love was born Courtney Michelle Harrison in
San Francisco, California in 1964. Love spent her early years living in hippie communes
in Oregon and at schools in Europe and New Zealand, under the care of her mother and
other family members...
“ Courtney is the daughter of Hank Harrison, the first manager for The Grateful Dead,
and author Linda Carroll.

Her maternal grandmother was the children's novelist Paula Fox, and her maternal great-
grandmother was screenwriter Elsie Fox Elsie's husband, (Courtney's maternal
grandfather) was screenwriter Paul Hervey Fox, who wrote 14 films. Paul was the first
cousin of film star Douglas Fairbanks.

So you always wondered how the hell she got her awful band signed, and why she can
neither sing or act? Now you know.

ELITISM. ” - fedor8

25.
Geraldine Chaplin
Actress, Doctor Zhivago
The daughter of Charles Chaplin (aka Charlie Chaplin), Geraldine Chaplin attended the
Royal Ballet Academy in London. She was discovered by David Lean when she was
dancing in Paris, which is what led to her role in Doctor Zhivago. She has two children,
Shane and Oona.
“ this utterly gorgeous creature is the daughter of Charles Chaplin, famous comedian and
Marxist ” - fedor8

26.
Kim Kardashian
Self, Episode #1.2
“ No need to list her family. You all know this... woman.

The "acting gene" is nowhere in sight, not even theoretically, unless you believe in a
"lawyer gene" and its close hypothetical connection with the "charisma gene" and the
"thespian gene". A perfect example of how easy it is for the young preppy Hollywood jet-
set to gain fame (and eventually acting assignments) for doing and being and achieving
absolutely nothing. ” - fedor8

27.
Christian Slater
Actor, True Romance
Christian Michael Leonard Slater was born on August 18, 1969 in New York to Michael
Hawkins, a well-known soap actor and Mary Jo Slater, a casting agent. Christian started
in show business early, appearing on the soap opera The Edge of Night in 1976 at the age
of 7. He went on to star in many Broadway shows in the early-1980s...
“ Mommy: Mary Jo S(h)later, a cas(h)ting director
Daddy: Michael Gainsborough, actor ” - fedor8

28.
Jake Gyllenhaal
Actor, Donnie Darko
Jacob "Jake" Gyllenhaal (last name pronounced jill-en-hall) was born in Los Angeles,
California, on December 19, 1980 to director Stephen Gyllenhaal and
producer/screenwriter Naomi Foner and is the brother of actress Maggie Gyllenhaal, who
played his sister in Donnie Darko. His father is of partial Swedish heritage and his mother
is of Ashkenazi Jewish heritage...
“ son of Stephen Gyllenhaal and Naomi Foner, both producers; Jamie Lee Curtis is his
godmother

David Fincher, shame on you.

Typical 21st-century Hollywood preppy: his parents had mapped out a career for him and
his sis while they were still in diapers. Did it matter he was going to grow into a bland,
sleepy, dull man lacking charisma and acting ability? Nope. Hollywood's
actors/producers/directors have a sense of entitlement that you won't even find in such
high quantities even in your typical European royal family.

Now Hollywood's persistent hype- and image- machinery is trying to embed the notion of
the "tough alpha male Jake" in our collective minds.

All you have to do to prevent them from succeeding in this evil and absurd plan is to
boycott his movies, especially the ones where he is cast as a "tough guy". It's that simple.
Or are we going to let Hollywood treat us like morons forever? ” - fedor8

29.
Rooney Mara
Actress, The Social Network
“ Great-grandfather Tim Mara founded the New York Giants. Great-grandfather Art
Rooney founded the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Daughter of Timothy Christopher Mara, a scout for the New York Giants.

Uncle John Mara is CEO of the New York Giants since 2005.

Any questions?
The "acting gene" is nowhere in sight. But the "Jet-Set Ticket To Quick & Undeserved
Fame" is.

David Fincher, shame on you, again. ” - fedor8

30.
Zoë Wanamaker
Actress, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone
“ daughter of Sam Wanamaker, actor/director; a relative of the owners of the once-
famous department store, "Wanamakers"

You gotta love it when these preppies who stem from stinking rich families suddenly start
supporting left-wing "proletariat causes" once they get into show-biz with the aid of their

in The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants in 2005...
“ Daddy is Ernie Lively, in whose film she made her first appearance
Momsy is Elaine Lively, talent manager (how ironic)

younger sister of Eric Lively, and younger half-sister of Lori Lively, Jason Lively and
Robyn Lively

Her mom must have thought: "I am a Talent Manager by profession, so that must mean
my children must be all talented... right?"

Wrong, Elaine.

certain viewers' nerves while it fascinates others...
“ Son of actress Jacqueline Pierreux and screenwriter Pierre Léaud.

“ "Born with show business in her blood"... This is how her bio starts.

This is how many bios start. Blood filled with show-biz? How can they write that and not
feel deeply ashamed?

I'd like a few biologists to have a look at these oh-so special "blood cells". Much like
monarchies tried to justify their existence/tyrannies with baloney concepts such as "blue
blood", in the same way does Hollywood try to establish the "acting gene" as their own
little raison d'etre, hence "Hollywood royalty" having recently become a popular term,
invented by the same nepotistic clans who control most of the film industry, a term
happily repeated over and over by various corrupt, bribable and moronic media gossip
queens.

Strasberg Theatre Institute, where she was seen in several stage productions. She worked
as a professional model in London...
“ daughter of Jon Voight

She decided to use her mother's last name to hide this fact. (My opinion, at least.) Many
nepotists are embarrassed to admit they had vast help in starting their careers.

And then when they do get called out on it, they use the same old tired line: "It isn't easy
carrying the burden of a famous name." Yes, being born with a silver spoon in your
mouth is generally regarded as bad karma, isn't it? (Which is about as convincing as a
rich person saying that money doesn't make one happy.)

I'm pretty sure that thousands of aspiring actors without the benefits of family
connections would give their right arms to have this "burden" in exchange for having a
shot at films or TV.

Not much of a "burden", is it? They sound like those whiny lottery winners who manage

with the silly name deserves to become a star?

John's laughable arrogance is utterly typical of nepotistic Hollywood: they feel that they
are so powerful that they can push just about anyone into the world of A-level glitz and
glamour, while raking in even more cash. Their sense of entitlement goes against all their
left-wing beliefs, which is typical of their hypocritical behaviour.

their mouths (i.e. always getting whatever they wanted) nepotists often have even more

“ Fairly cute, which is rare among nepotistites, but hardly a beauty.

Nevertheless, watch her "act" in M. Night Charlatan's "The Happening". Even those evil

Farrow is a one-dimensional actress with the typical kind of lack of screen presence that
nepotists have.

Her parents were well-connected with the Hollywood jet-set while Uma was still a kid.

You are very easily entertained it seems. I am definitely jealous of THAT.

You must be posting from kindergarten, right? I mean, this childish rationalization that
all criticism has jealousy at its heart.

So if I criticize Hitler and Stalin, does that count as jealousy too?

Btw, never write "hahahaha" when you're upset. It makes it only that much more obvious
that you are.

I stated clearly in my intro that this isn't about fairness or social equality. That aspect I
merely mentioned to draw attention to the obvious hypocrisy of liberal Hollywood. It's
about movies getting worse and worse, with nepotistic actors, writers and directors piling
up garbage products by the week.

Jeff Bridges was omitted because I don't consider him a bad actor at all. Close is just
plain unattractive, and that to me does matter. After all, this IS a visual medium.

If anyone is surprised by this list then they haven't been paying attention. This is pretty
common knowledge to be some huge liberal conspiracy. "Oooh, scary Sophia Coppola is
trying to make me stupid." If we were talking about politicians or the fields of law or
medicine, which nepotism is much more rampant in, then I would excuse your level of
paranoia...but movies?

And by the way, just because you do not like a certain actor or actress doesn’t mean they
are automatically untalented. You do not have special powers. Film, at its best, is an art
form and it is much too subjective for one person to be the voice of what is fit for mass
consumption and what is not. If someone disagrees with your OPINION it doesn’t make
them automatically wrong. They simply had a different experienced than you did. You
cannot control someone else’s perception of a film. You can have your opinion and that is
it. A much bigger problem facing America is not liberal control of the media or
conservative control of the media but people believing that their opinions are facts. This
leads to an environment where the free flow and exchange of ideas is impeded by
stubborn belief that a person is right simply because they “feel” they are right. We cannot
agree on black and white facts anymore because they do not line up with our opinions or
ideologies.
But I am getting off topic. Anyway, I actually enjoy your lists. They are very funny. I
don’t agree with most of them but I can appreciate a different point of view.read more

Some people you mention are without doubt where they are as a result of who they know
(or from who their parents are etc), but some of your choices are so bizarre that they
border on non-sensical.

uh... obviously not. He was in there right place at the right time and got cast as the nerdy
one in a big tv show... and from there he became a name. He has a dwindling career now
only because he was Ross on friends. Thats his story. Ditto Aniston.

Jasom Schwartzman... I thought he was excellent in Rushmore, but admittedly he's been
in innumerable luke-warm movies since. ... and maybe his family connections helped the
kid land the part in rushmore, but I think Wes Anderson wanted a gawky nerd for his
lead... and hey! he got one.

The entry that sealed this list for me though was Skandar Keynes or whatever his name
was. I haven't seen him act so cannot comment there... but your reason for including him
seems to be because he is distantly related to long-time corpse Charles Darwin and some
nobel prize winner. I fail to see how this could boost his hire-a-bility in the eyes of
anyone. I cannot for the life of me fathom why this would matter in an acting career. The
same could be said for Jack Black. How exactly would having NASA scientist parents
have benefitted him in his chosen field? How!?

Add to that the multitudes of bit part actors born unto bit part actors... and I dunno. Your
list seems more a list of "whos who and who bugs me" than what it sets out to be. You
make it clear on almost every entry that you just plain don't like the people you put forth,
so it is hard to believe that list is impartial.read more

Ever since I first saw this list I've had an almost painful niggle in my head telling me
there's someone missing.

I finally got it...

This is a person;
-Who's made more box office flops than Jennifer Aniston.
-Whose parents are both famous.
-His first role in a proper movie was in 1987 directed by Spielberg.
-According to his bio, in 1992 MTV offered him his own show (named after himself)
which they then passed on. It was picked up by Fox but completely bombed (13 eps).

-After that he "had to settle for guest appearance work. While he was doing this, he saved
up his cash and in the end was able to scrape enough together to make 'Reality Bites'
(1994), now a cult classic which is looked upon favorably by the generation it depicted."
What isn't mentioned is that Danny DeVito was a producer for that movie. So much for
"scraping" money together.
-And if you haven't guessed already I'll give you a big clue quoted from his trivia on
IMDB;
"Holds a distinct Razzie Award record - nominated for most titles in one year. He was
nominated in 2004 for Worst Actor in five of the six films in which he appeared: Along
Came Polly (2004), Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy (2004), Dodgeball: A
True Underdog Story (2004), Envy (2004)_, and Starsky & Hutch (2004). The only film
he was not nominated in for that year was Meet the Fockers (2004)."

Yes everyone, I'm referring to Ben Stiller.

"2007 - Ranked #20 on EW's The 50 Smartest People in Hollywood."
Not talented. Not funny. Not good looking. Not profitable.
This guy has to be smart to survive. He must be doing something clever if it took me this
long to remember the biggest comedy black hole since Chevy Chase died.
In my eyes Chevy's dead. Something horrible has been wearing his skin since the late
'80s. Similarly Steve Martin and Dan Aykroyd (I think I might have an idea for my own

I had Stiller on the list initially. However, while he is certainly not funny, he isn't awful. I
can certainly see why he would fit in perfectly, but there are much worse ones than him.

That's definitely an idea for a list. "Comedians Who Got Lost". Do it before I do.

So as i'm reading this i'm seeing that some of the actors get nothing but a snarky

that may have actually happened at some point in their careers, you offer absolutely no

commendable. I've received dozens and dozens of posts yelling at me, all of them being
