Duties and responsibilities:

Accomplishes staff results by communicating job expectations; planning,


monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining
Manager employees; developing, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, procedures,
and productivity standards.

This job description assumes the latter view of the finance manager position. As
such, the finance manager should manage funds in such a manner as to maximize
Finance return on investment while minimizing risk, and while also ensuring that an
adequate control structure is in place over the transfer and investment of funds.
Further, the finance manager engages in financial analysis in such areas as
forecasting, budgeting, engaging in cost reduction analysis, and reviewing
operational performance.

Identifies hiring need, develops the position description, Recruitment Plan,


Human organizational chart and other recruitment related documents. May serve as Search
Resource Committee Chair and identifies Search Committee members. Conducts recruitments
showing good faith efforts to broaden diversity. Ensures understanding of collective
bargaining agreements’ specific provisions with respect to filling of bargaining unit
positions

One of the chief responsibilities of a manufacturer’s representative is to identify


potential customers by networking through business associations and conferences,
Manufacturing following up on leads from current clients, examining Internet databases and
consulting business directories. They must research their intended client to discover
the products that he wants to buy. They then contact a prospect to determine his
needs and how his manufacturing company can meet those needs. They bring
samples of smaller items, such as office supplies or printer peripherals, and prepare
audio-visual presentations of larger goods, such as construction vehicles or factory
robots. They must emphasize how their products can solve customer problems and
help him select the best ones to buy. They answer any questions about
specification, uses, warranties, prices and availability.
A sales manager can’t work alone. He needs the support of his sales team where
each one contributes in his best possible way and works towards the goals and
Sales objectives of the organization. He is the one who sets the targets for the sales
executives and other sales representatives. A sales manager must ensure the
targets are realistic and achievable.

The duties must not be imposed on anyone, instead should be delegated as per
interests and specializations of the individuals. A sales manager must understand
who can perform a particular task in the most effective way. It is his role to extract
the best out of each employee.
A good supervisor places a high priority on coaching employees. Good coaching
involves working with employees to establish suitable goals, action plans and time
Supervisor lines. The supervisor delegates and also provides ongoing guidance and support to

the employee as they complete their action plans. Usually the supervisor
understands the organization and the employee's profession better than the
employee. Consequently, the supervisor is in a unique position to give ongoing
advice to the employee about job and career. The employee can look to the
supervisor as a model for direction and development. An effective mentor-mentee
relationship requires the supervisor to accept the responsibility of mentorship.

 An entrepreneur should be responsible and do his/her duties.

 He/she must be cheerful.
 He/she must know how business works.
 He/she must be wise in making decisions whenever there are existing problems.
 He/she must know how to sales talk and entertain customers.
