Q&A
A : Our BYOD.link app and BYOD station are connected to the hotel guest network. All connections are isolated
from central communication system.
A : Guests can connect their smart phones to either IP or Analog phones via BYOD.link in the guestroom.
• Q3 : Does the hotel need to replace existing phones when deploying BYOD.link?
A : Our BYOD.link solution is flexible. It can be applied to just selected premium guestrooms. Previously Installed
phones are still able to communicate with BYOD.link enable rooms.
A : Currently, BYOD.link is only designed to be integrated with single line IP or Analog phones.
Q&A
A : Up to four smart phones can connect to BYOD station. Only one phone can make/receive a call at one time.
A : It depends on the hotel network configuration. Guest’s smart phones would be able to connect to BYOD.link as
long as the public Wi-Fi and guestroom Wi-Fi are in the same network segment.
Q&A
A : It is not possible to connect to BYOD.link via 4G/5G networks. Only the hotel Wi-Fi network would support
connection to BYOD.link.
• Q9 : How to call for hotel services with guest personal mobile device?
A : All hotel services can be found in the BYOD.link app. Hotels can design and apply their user interface for guests.
Guests can access hotel services via ‘Guest Service’ in the BYOD.link app as long as their smart phones are
connected to BYOD station.
A : Hotels can design and apply their own user interface in the BYOD.link app for guests. The service items can be listed
according to the hotel preference.
Q&A
• Q11 : How will the BYOD.link guest app disconnect from the room when checkout time is reached?
A : There are 3 approaches to disconnect the BYOD.link app from the room.
- Receptionists can use the BYOD.link Portal app to log guests out of the BYOD.link app.
- The PMS system will stop guestroom phone communications so that the BYOD.link can no longer access hotel
services.
- A new QR code will be generated when a new guest checks in. The new configuration will overwrite the previous
setting and the previously configured BYOD.link app will no longer be able to connect to BYOD.link.
A : The BYOD.link app automatically uses the language that your smart phone is set to, as long as the language is
supported in the app.
