WHAT I NEED TO KNOW?
A. Introduction
Discuss why some materials are good conductors of heat and
electricity
WHAT’S NEW?
Energizer (Tiktok – It’s Tricky Challenge: Online Edition)
Show materials/appliances commonly used at home that conduct
heat and electricity.
Directions: Show photos and the students must dance towards the
direction indicated above of their chosen photo.

Review
Four Pics One Word
Guess the right word according to the four pictures showed.
1. Aluminum
2. Metals
3. Wires
4. Copper
5. Silver
Pre-test
Directions: Read carefully and write the letter of the correct answer.
1. Which material is best conductor of heat?
A. Aluminum C. Wood
B. Glass D. Plastic
2. Which of the following items could not be used to create closed
circuit?
A. Battery, light bulb C. Battery, wires, buzzer
B. Battery, light bulb, wires D. Battery, light bulb, buzzer, wire
3. A metal spoon that gets warm when used to stir hot soup is an
example of?
A. Conduction C. Convection
B. Radiation D. Insulation
4. Which is NOT an insulator?
A. Fabric C. Plastic
B. Metal D. Glass
5. It was first time for Lance using an electric oven, he used a
plastic container in baking brownies. What will happen to the
plastic container inside the oven?
A. The brownies were baked very well because the plastic
have freely moving electrons that can transfer thermal energy
quickly and easily.
B. It make the brownies become half baked.
C. The plastic container melted because plastic is a property of
insulators and not a good conductor of heat.
D. Nothing will happen.

WHAT IS IT?
Motive Question
Conductors are materials that allow electricity and heat to flow freely
through them, allowing electricity and heat to be transferred from the
source through them.
COPPER WIRES are widely used for electrical wiring because they
are ductile and are good conductors of electricity, while steel
aluminums are good conductors of heat and electricity.
They don’t have free electrons which is the main reason why they
resist conducting electricity.
They are made of plastic, silk, leather, glass, oil and rubber materials.

1. Metals are good conductor of electricity because of its
_________?
2. Electrons flow easily through ________?
3. Commonly used metal in electrical wires because of its high
conductivity __________?
4 & 5. Our body is also a good conductor of electricity because of
the presence of _______ & ________?
Group Activity
Directions: Divide the class into two. Complete the concept map/web
by writing an example of conductors and insulators in each rectangle.

WHAT OTHER ENRICHMENT ACTIVITIES CAN I ENGAGE IN?
Materials:
Mug
Boiling hot water
Butter or margarine
Any small solid plastic (beads, earrings etc.)
Plastic spoon
Wooden spoon/stick
Metal spoon
Procedure:
1. Place the three different spoons on the mug.
2. Dab a small amount of butter or margarine on top of each
spoon.
3. Paste a small solid plastic on the butter on each spoon.
4. Pour the boiling hot water on the mug.
Guide Questions:
1. Based from the activity, do all materials conduct heat?
2. How do you call materials/objects that conduct heat?
3. Can materials that conduct heat also be a good conductor of
electricity? Why?
Conclusion:
I learned that….
