1. Name and discuss the basic elements in understanding the Decalogue. 


(10pts) 
These are the four basic elements in understanding the decalogue.  
1. Reasonable decision - that is prudent and with purpose. A decision must
be reasonable and justifiable.  
2. Promulgated – that is, communicated with sufficient notice to its
subjects while respecting their rights and dignity. It means this decision or action
must be approved by many through declaring your plans in doing an action. 
3. By competent authority – those who have legitimate powers to do
so. This must have a consent from the higher status of the church or a
community. Or they are only the ones allowed to do such things.  
4. For the common good – for the social betterment of its subjects. An
action or decision must be done for the common good of all the people in the
church or society. This must only be done with the intention of having a
betterment or improvement of such people.  

2. Name and discuss the values of the Decalogue. (15pts) 


 Credible and durable moral norms for everyday life.  
 A pattern and structure for living according to Christ’s commandment to
love God and neighbor.  
 Universal accessible source for relating to non-Christians in moral matters. 
 
The decalogue's ideals serve as a guidance for you in your daily life. It's a
complete representation of who you are as a person and how you relate to
GOD. It should be believable and long-lasting for societal moral norms; it is to
spend your life with God at the center of everything. You must follow through
on every action or choice you make, whether it is for yourself or for
your neighbor. You must obey all of the Lord's commands. It is also available to
everyone in terms of how to treat non-Christians morally. 
3. Name & discuss the two major divisions of the Decalogue with respect
to its content. (15pts) 
The first tablet and the second tablet are the two major divisions of
the decalogue. The first tablet discusses the first, second, and third
commandments. Which focuses on God's divine interaction with
humans. The second tablet covers the fourth through tenth
commandments, which deal with your interaction with society in terms of
God's ideals and discipline, as well as how you live and
socialize. Remembering what God taught us about how to act or how to
treat someone with passion, trust, and respect might help us connect with
them. 

4. Discuss how the liberating power of God was being manifested in the
Old Testament and linked it with how Christ manifested it through His
resurrection. (20pts.)
Jesus Christ has set us free from the eternal consequences, guilt, and power
of sin. No longer enslaved to our own sinful desires, we are set free to walk
in step with the truth of the gospel; we no longer live for ourselves, but for
the name of Jesus, for the glory of god the father, through the power of the
holy spirit.
