Lesson Plan: Topic: Greetings, Introductions, Numbers, and Addresses
Materials Needed:
Index cards
- Greet in different ways - Introduce people and say where they are from.
- A - Warm up
Ask students what they say when they see someone they know. Elicit “Hello” and ask students what
other greetings they know.
On the board :
2. Have the students greet as many of their classmates as possible. Encourage them to use as many
different greetings as possible

- Good morning Good Afternoon
- What is your name? My name is …………… Nice to meet you.
- How are you? Where are you from?
- I’m fine, thanks! I’m from________________.
- 2. Have a pair work and each pair speak in front of the class and ask each other what their name is,
how they are and where they are from.
- 3.Divide the class into three groups and take it in turn to introduce each other

- 1. Motivate the students, saying, "Today, we will be learning about numbers. Raise your hand if you
know a number."

- 2. Exercises – Complete the table with a partner, listen and check, match.
- 3. Select random students to fill the gaps of the address on the board and repeat this activity.
The students have to extract the fictional addresses from their partner in this pair-work speaking activity.

Teacher: What's your town?
Student: It's Edinburgh.
Teacher: Can you repeat that please?
Student: It's Edinburgh.

Next, dividing the group into pairs and have them take turns extracting the address from a partner. Make
the students aware that their primary aim is to write down their partner's address accurately.
When finished, they should compare what they've written with what they recorded.

- 3. Using Index card - Writing each word on an index card and distribute to students accordingly. For
example, the 'he' card should go to one male student, the 'she' card to one female, the 'we' card to a group,
and so on
- Now to give each group an object, such as a pencil, and say 'He has the pencil. It is his.'
- To write the possessive pronoun next to the coordinating basic pronoun, such as 'he/his.'
- Finish the list and create index cards for the possessive pronouns.
