Hygiene and Comfort.

Hygiene is the science of health and its preservation and can also be
described as cleanliness that is conducive to the preservation of health. Comfort may be described as
ease or wellbeing; for people to feel comfortable their physiological, psychological and spiritual
needs must be met. (Nurse Key, 2017). In this study, it refers to the nursing procedures where both
male and female nurse perform to maintain and achieve holistic care.
Physical assessment. Physical examination is the process of evaluating objective anatomic findings
through the use of observation, palpation, percussion, and auscultation. (Holland & Jewell, 2017). In
this study, it refers to the nursing procedures where both male and female nurse conduct to obtain a
complete assessment of a patient or client.
Meeting the needs of clients requiring surgery. Nurses that works with patients who are
having operative or other invasive procedures. They help plan, implement, and evaluate
treatment of the surgical patient and may work closely with the patient, family members, and
other health care professionals. (HealthTimes, 2021). In this study, it refers to the nursing
procedures done by both male and female nurses preoperatively, intraoperatively, postoperatively,
and until the discharge phase to meet the needs of the patient or client.
Administering Medications. Refers to the nursing intervention defined as preparing, giving, and
evaluating the effectiveness of prescription and nonprescription drugs (Miller-Keane Encyclopedia
and Dictionary of Medicine, 2003). In this study, it refers to the nursing procedures performed as one
of the nursing responsibilities accomplished by both male and female nurses in the hospital setting.
Measures for Urinary and Bowel Elimination. Urinary elimination is the discharge from the body
of indigestible materials and of waste products of body metabolism. Bowel
Elimination (Defecation) is a natural process by which the soiled waste products of digestion
(feces or stool) are eliminated from the bowel. (Miller-Keane Encyclopedia and Dictionary of
Medicine, 2003). In this study, it refers to the nursing procedures performed by both male and female
nurses to maintain urinary and bowel functions.
