1.Introduction
Overview

Introducing the elegant and secured 42U Free Standing Cabinet is ideally suited for
deployment in LAN and WAN Application. The Cabinet is designed to rack equipment in network
wiring closets, retail locations, classrooms, back offices and other areas with limited floor space
where you need equipment to be secure, organized and out of the way. Constructed from heavy-
duty steel with a durable black powder-coated finish, the cabinet has a maximum load capacity
of 400 Kg. The side panels and front door lock securely to help prevent damage, tampering or
theft. The top, bottom and side panels are vented, which allows air to flow freely and keep
equipment cool. Cable entry provisions on the Top and bottom panel offer convenient cable
management option, Cut-outs with grills for fan mounting are a standard feature with the top
cover.

2 Product Description
Overview

The customizable 42U rack is configured to be compatible with almost all Manufacturer’s
equipment including: Dell, HP / Compaq, IBM, and Sun. 42U Racks feature a symmetrical frame to
allow enclosures to be bayed in space-saving layouts, including side-by-side, one in front of
another, in a corner, in U or T arrangements, all without the need for an expensive intermediate
frame.

The frame system provides multiple internal surfaces and points for mounting equipment
and accessories. The top panel of the 42U Rack is secured with the standard eye-bolts. Whether
you require a top panel for cable entry or for ventilation, it can be quickly replaced by loosening 4
screws. This stable, static design permits use of roof-mounted cooling units.

The easy side panel access is convenient for routine maintenance, but also can be locked
to prevent unauthorized access. Two-way Cable Entry - top and bottom - enable data and cable
routing. The FS Series incorporates an optimal cooling design. The partially vented frames and four
optional AC fans that can be put on the top panel give the Free Standing cabinet excellent air

ventilation. A heat-treated glass door provides extra strength, and you can silkscreen company
logos, marks, and labels to boost product image.
