PRE-LESSON: (10 minutes)
1. Pupils activate their prior knowledge by playing a game.
2. A few pupils choose a mood card and mime the action in an appropriate manner while the class guess the adverb.

LESSON DEVELOPMENT: (40 minutes)


1. Pupils turn to Full Blast page 16 and look at Section A. Pupils are introduced to the meaning of “body language”.
2. Pupils work in pairs to discuss 3 questions in Section A. All the groups share their discussions with the class (Complementary Skill).
3. Pupils move on to Section B and look at the picture of the boy and guess how he must be feeling.
4. Pupils read through sentences 1-7 and any unknown words at this stage are clarified.
5. Pupils listen to a radio programme with body language expert and complete gap fills for 7 sentences. (Main Skill)
6. Pupils listen to the same recording again.
7. Pupils compare their answers with a partner before discussing as a class.

POST-LESSON: (10 minutes)


1. Pupils work with their partners about what they have learnt about body language from expert, Dr Susan Maddison and whether it is
easy to interpret a person’s body language.
2. A few pairs share their ideas with the class.
