With this activity, you are expected to achieve the following learning
outcomes:

To recognize basic concepts related to the Social Science studies through the contrast
of previous knowledge and information given in the course material.
The activity consists of:

Individually, present a PDF. Document with answers to the three suggested questions,
based on general information from the course, to develop this task, follow these steps:

Step 1: Explore the course, read, and analyze the Syllabus that you will find in the
Learning Environment. In it, the student will read the objectives, recognize the units,
download the references, and analyze the number of materials that must be read. It
is important to check the dates proposed for the course development. Please focus on
the individual activities and those that are collaborative, and the dates/times you are
planning to work on as the steps you will follow. If possible, read or download the
activity guides.

Step 2: Go to the collaborative learning environment and enter the forum of Task 1,
introduce yourself and write the expectations you have about the course.

Step 3: Watch the video “An animated introduction to Social Science” its link is
available in the suggested bibliographical references for Unit 1.

In the collaborative forum for Task 1 answer the following questions:

2. How can I use the theory seen in the video nowadays?

3. In your opinion, which is the Social Science field that could be used the most in
the Language Classroom? Why?

For the development of the activity consider that:

In the Initial Information Environment, you must: observe the course


presentation, check the course agenda, the date of the synchronous meetings by
Webconferences, and attention through skype.

In the Learning Environment, you must: access the course syllabus, download
the guide, and check the links of the documents you must consider for the
development of the activity.

In the Evaluation Environment, you must: submit the final document, which
meets the requirements from the guide.

The individual evidence to be submitted is:

A PDF. Document containing a cover page, the expectations of the course, the
answers to the proposed questions in the activity guide and a page with all the
references of the documents used for the development of the task using APA style.

For Individual evidences, consider the following:


Before delivering the requested product, the student should check that it meets all
the requirements mentioned in this activity guide.

Please keep in mind that all individual or collaborative written products must comply
with the spelling rules and presentation conditions defined in this activity guide.
Regarding the use of references, consider that the product of this activity must
comply with APA style.

In any case, make sure you comply with the rules and avoid academic plagiarism.
You can review your written products using the Turnitin tool found in the virtual
campus.
