WHAT I CAN DO
ACTIVITY 1.1
ACTIVITY 1.2
1. I think that the biggest challenge that I have encountered while doing the activity is the
availability of space, lack of motivation, noise, lack of concentration and time management.
2. I think there are time that I follow the routines and there are times that I didn’t because
sometimes I have the issue of balance and concentration. There are also times that I have to
be fast because there are home chores that I wanted to do.
3. I think that the learnings that I learn throughout the activity is to have concentration and
focus. Doing arnis has been really not an easy way because all you have to do is to practice
and practice so that you can achieve your goals for the day.

Since the only creatures (as far as we know) that fight, and also have a concept of honor, are
human beings, I’ll assume that “Arnis” is a person, named, perhaps, after the national martial art of
the Philippines. I expect he’s a man. So, you want a speech? “Ladies and gentlemen, Arnis has been
fighting for honor. Let us all applaud his noble struggle. Let us all hope that he prevails against his
mighty foes, because, if he does, it will not just be a man who has triumphed, but honor itself!
Unlike the European Knights, the Japanese Samurai or the Chinese Wulin, Arnisadores have
no Code of Conduct which meant by extension Arnis had no known speeches that exulted “Fighting
for honor” and what have you.
Arnis was developed primarily for survival by villages along the coasts of the various
Philippine Islands that were prone to frequent Moro pirate pillaging.
And then eventually the same Arnisadores were conscripted into the Spanish armada and
were deployed in hot zones, such as subduing internal rebellions to conquests outside of the
Philippines such as in the Malaccas, Guam and so on.
Pugay po!
