Choose a reputable job recruitment website and evaluate it based on a list of

the most concerned or important criteria from a job seeker’s perspective.
The website we would like to choose is Glassdoor.
Glassdoor (an American website) was founded in 2007 by Robert Hohman, Rich
Barton, and Tim Besse in Mill Valley, California, and officially launched in 2008. It
is a website where current and past employees anonymously rate and review
organizations. On its site, Glassdoor also permits users to anonymously report and
view salaries, along with look for and apply for a job. Glassdoor is part of Recruit
Holdings' rapidly expanding HR Technology business sector.
Glassdoor is the world's leading source of employment and company information.
Glassdoor combines the current positions with
millions of company reviews and ratings, CEO
approval ratings, salary reports, interview
evaluations and questions, benefits reviews, office
images, and more, all with the goal of enhancing
workplace openness. Unlike other job boards, all of
this information is supplied by the people who
know a company the best: its employees. As a
result, job seekers who use Glassdoor have done
their research and are more educated about the jobs and firms they apply to and
contemplate joining. This is why Glassdoor is trusted by thousands of businesses
of all sizes and sectors to help them find and hire great candidates at scale who
work harder. Glassdoor's mobile apps make it possible to access the company
from anywhere.
The most important feature is that the website runs free of cost for the job
seekers. Additionally, this website is reliable as the information regarding various
positions at the companies is accurate. The website gives you a good picture of
what might be expected in an interview and hence this website prepares you
ahead of time for the upcoming interviews in your career.

Here is the list of most concerned or important criteria

from a job seeker’s perspective:
 Job alerts and notification- When a new job is posted on the portal; the job
alert feature notifies recruiters and job seekers. If this feature is ignored or
avoided, your online job portal will lose its purpose. When signing up for
the job portal, you should
encourage job seekers and
recruiters to enable push
notifications. Job alerts and push
notifications allow job seekers to
apply for jobs quickly.
Furthermore, this gives your brand a lot of exposure.
Does Glassdoor have this- whenever you sign up on this website you have
an option of SETUP JOB ALERT which takes you to a separate window. That
window requests you to enter your job title and your location which helps it
to send you alerts and notifications regarding your job profile near your
location.
 Mobility support or app- Recently, search engines began prioritizing
mobile-friendly websites. Mobile users account for one-third of all Internet
users, so your job portal must be mobile-friendly. A mobile Application is
the best way to develop a responsive job portal that targets mobile device
users. Another benefit that should not be overlooked is the ability to apply
for jobs through a job portal
application. Most job boards
have an application that makes
it easier to access them at any
time and from any location.
These mobile apps allow job
seekers to quickly access
information about the most
recent job openings.
Does Glassdoor have this- GLASSDOOR has developed a mobile application
named GLASSDOOR-Job Search Tools (find companies hiring now). This
application helps you access the job portal on your mobile giving all the
same features as provided on the website. It also has developed a mobile
friendly website which is very easy to operate on mobiles without any
complexity. The major purpose for developing this is that a job seeker can
have access to GLASSDOOR anytime.
 Salary- It's also crucial to think about
the future. The offered wage may be
adequate for the time being, but
without assured annual cost-of-living
adjustments, our income may decline in
real terms over time. Are the bonus
structures feasible if we've been
promised a commission-based salary?
It's a good idea to inquire about how
often people meet their goals and
whether there are any bonus-related provisions in the contract.
Does Glassdoor have this- Glassdoor can provide us a good understanding
of the average income bands in our sector, position, area, and company, as
well as help us to determine how much our abilities and experience are
truly worth before accepting the salary we've been offered.
 Employee reviews- The other thing to be consider while looking for a job in
a particular company is the employee reviews. Is the firm we're
contemplating rated lower than we anticipated? Employee-generated
reviews should be taken as fact of contempt, as staff may be more tempted
to submit a negative review when
they are unhappy. A review could be a
reaction to a single incident rather
than a reflection of their overall
experience with the company.
Consider a corporation that receives a
worse rating than predicted. In this
instance, people either adore or despise working for the organization.
Employees who despise working for the company, on the other hand, are
more likely to leave a negative review, whilst others do not.
Does Glassdoor have this- Current and former employees submit
evaluations on Glassdoor about their experiences working for the
organization. Their opinions on the leadership team, promotions, the
business culture, and other topics are discussed. since reviews are an
excellent resource for job seekers and they provide a first-hand picture of
what is it like to work at a certain organization.
 Data security- Lack of privacy is one of the biggest drawbacks of the
internet, every day we hear about user data getting leaked because of
cyber-attacks. Moreover, websites track every activity of their users and sell
the data, sometimes without even consent. Online job portals are no better
in keeping the data secure, recently Indian
cyber security branch reported that they found
personal details of 29 million Indian job seekers
on the dark web. An ideal job portal must
implement security measures to ensure privacy
of user data. Using security plugins, HTTPS, etc.
are some of the basic things a portal should
adapt.
Does Glassdoor have this- Glassdoor provides an encrypted channel to its
users to protect their data from potential attacks. However, they use
cookies and allow third parties such as advertising agencies to view the user
cookies, these are mostly used for advertisements, but it also means user
movements are tracked. Although there have been no major data leaks
with Glassdoor, recently they unintentionally revealed users e-mails
addresses publicly and issued a
statement apologizing for the
same.
 Job description- Whenever a job is
posted by the employer on any
portal, they should specifically
mention the activities the
employees would have to
perform. Many times, employers
are vague about the job details,
be it salary, working days or hours or the type of work one must do. Job
seekers usually apply to these posts based on the position title. For
instance, once I applied for an internship in an investment firm, the work I
was supposed to do was Finance related but when I joined, I also had to
fulfill sales targets, the job posting was completely misleading in that case.
Does Glassdoor have this- Whilst Glassdoor does encourage the employers
to include the specific details about the position, it does not mandate them
to do so. This may lead to many employers misleading the job seekers. They
should implement a policy where employers would be penalized if they do
not clarify the details or if they compel their employees to do activities they
were not selected for or where not made aware of.
 User interface- User interface (UI) refers to the
interaction between users and the websites or
software. It plays a vital role in a consumer
satisfaction. There are several features that makes
a good user interference such as multiple language
support as it allows users from different origins. A
simple UI refers to the content that is easy in
understanding, the data should be easy to locate
using features like search column, filters option. A simple UI target users
from all age group. Moreover, User interference should be free from
miscellaneous advertisements, these advertisements might contain spam.
Such advertisements spoil the good user experience on website.
The content on the websites should be user-friendly and also large in size.
Content with greater size delivers more information to the users and gives
several options to select. Moreover, the content on the website needs to
be verified by sources before being included on the server of the websites,
as it reduces the risk of frauds.
Does Glassdoor have this- Glassdoor UI is very simple to use as it allows
search column to find jobs in nearby locations, filter helps in distinguish of
jobs by interest of the user and it is fast in loading the content. Glassdoor
also supports multiple language for its users. Language on Glassdoor is set
on domain basic which is based on the location of the user. Glassdoor user
interference is very clean as it does not contain any miscellaneous
advertisements. Their policies are strict and focused on providing safe and
secure browsing experience.
Glassdoor also have large content of data; this allows users to find jobs for
their choices in nearby locations. Glassdoor is aiming to verify as much as
data they have on their servers. They use active email address or valid
social networking account to verify its users.
 Qualification filter- In a job recruitment site there must be filters for
looking job according to the qualification so that people can not confuse
and apply those jobs which needs specific kind of study and experience.
The suggestions of
specific jobs must be
according to the
qualification like if a
person who have a
degree masters in
zoology (study of animal
science) and apply on a
job recruitment site the
job suggestions must be according to the study and experience candidate
have in specific field rather than showing the general labor jobs unless the
candidate is willing to do that general labor job.
Does Glassdoor have this- In Glassdoor website the filter comes under the
career insight option in which it asks for the title of job so I found this
feature up to the mark for the expectations of candidates, like a person can
search job according to his study and kind of experience he or she have in a
specific field which I think adds more specificity to a job seeker’s
expectation.
 Up to date content and website structure- An ideal site must have the up
to date content and website structure in order to register more candidates
the more up to date content available the popularity it will gain and the
website structure also have to updated
with time so that it can attracts the
candidates with the content and with the
ease of process of apply the job if a
website ask more questions again and
again the candidates may be lose their interest in the site and it will
become irritating for them.
Does Glassdoor have this- Glassdoor has almost all the requirements which
a particular recruitment website needs, due to its up to content and easy
application process it is popular job search website in the present time.
Time to time updates makes it more convenient for the people, the review
and blog option makes it more successful website as the previous worker’s
experience and the service reviews on website makes a good impact on the
new candidates.
 Browse benefits- When a seeker finding a job, he also considers benefits
provided by employer. These benefits can be anything’s that give extra aid
for life like cell phone limits, exercise center enrollments, and free lunch,
Dental service, free transportation etcetera. Also, the "Advantages" tab of
any organization's page incorporates
manually written surveys from current and
previous workers about singular
advantages. These can contain important
data about an organization's way to deal
with benefits. For instance, if an
organization in fact gives 20 days of paid
excursion each year, yet workers compose that there's a culture of being
deterred from taking your full get-away stipend, you should think about
that.
Does Glassdoor have this- Glass door can give you a within scoop on
advantages of numerous sorts offered to workers. This incorporates
monetary advantages like 401(k) plans and execution rewards and family
benefits like parental leave and the capacity to telecommute and wiped-out
leave arrangements, and expert help like occupation preparing and
educational cost help. These can genuinely factor into your choice to try
and go after a position.
 Interviews- Interview reviews are one of the site's most overlooked
viewpoints. They illuminate you not only whether earlier competitors had a
positive, unbiased, or terrible meeting experience all in all, yet additionally
how long it requires, how
troublesome it is, regardless of whether the commentator was extended to
an employment opportunity, and, above all, particular inquiries the firm
posed. Consider this: knowing which questions the organization's spotters
and recruitment chiefs have asked allows you to prepare for and rehearse
those specific questions, increasing your chances of succeeding in the
meeting.
