Circuit Analysis Ii Lab Report: 3 JULY 2021

This lab report describes an experiment to study the frequency response of a passive band pass filter using an RC circuit. The key steps are: 1. An RC band pass filter circuit is implemented in Simulink. A control voltage source provides input and voltage is measured at the output. 2. The frequency response is estimated using linear analysis. A sine wave input ranging from 10Hz to 10kHz is used. 3. The bode diagram showing magnitude and phase is plotted. The cut-off frequency where the magnitude is -3dB is determined. 4. The experiment demonstrates how to model and analyze an RC band pass filter in MATLAB to observe its frequency response characteristics

TITLE:
To study the frequency of RC response of Passive band
pass filter.

APPARATUS:
 Resistor
 Capacitor
 Control voltage source
 Voltage measurement
 Ground
 Scope
 Constant
THEORY:
Firstly we define filter .As filter means to remove unwanted frequency
or signal from system. As filter are main two types.
1 LPF means Low pass Filter (which pass only low frequency and block
high frequency).
HPF means high pass Filter (which pass only high frequency and block
low frequency).
Further we have also another two types of filter. BPF means Band pass
Filter (which pass only particular frequency and block other frequency).
BSF means Band store Filter (which block only particular frequency and
pass other frequency).
Now we discuss briefly low pass filter. A band-pass filter (BPF) is a filter
that passes particular frequencies and stop other frequencies.
SIMPLE MATHEMATICS :
XC=1/j ωC XC=1/J2πfC So If f=0 then XC=infinity If f=infinity
then XC=0
PROCEDURE:
 I Open MATLAB software;
 Then I enter simulink in workspace and then press enter then go
to Blank model =>Library Browser=>Simscape=>Power
System=>Specialized Technology=>Fundamental Blocks Then I
Select RLC Branch; and select select control voltage source,
select scope powergui, and also select ground as well as constant
etc and then click on add.
 Then I connect constant to control voltage via wire.
 Then we implement band pass filter circuit of RC response.
 Then right click on wire (b/w constant and control voltage source)
then click on linear analysis points then click on input
perturbation. Then right click on wire(b/w voltage measurement
and scope) then click on
 Then I simulink the ckt one time.then go to analysis then control
designlinear analysis points then click on output measurement.
then frequency response estimation. After that a new window
appear on my screen I go to input signal and click
 After this another window appear on my screen. So firstly I
choose/seton create new and then I choose sinstreme.
frequenct unit as HZ and then click on ADD in the current window.
After that a new window appear on my screen. So we set start
frequency =10HZ and ending frequenct=10000HZ then press OK.
 After that new window come. So select all frequency. And also
set amplitude to be one and then press OK.
 Then click on bode command to simulink the ckt further .it will
take some time.
 After that bode diagram shown on my screen for magnitude as
well as for angel. As frequency is in rad/sec . so right click on
current window then go to properties then go to unit and then
set frequency in kHZ. I also determine cut-off frequency if db=-3.

Conclusion:
In this lab we learn about filter and types of filter and how it work as a
band pass filter . Also we learn about how to use matlab to find band
pass filter for RC circuit. And how to plot bode diagram both for
magnitude as well as for angal.
