Question 22
Read the story below and answer the questions that follow.
Last week, Karen’s pet dog, Brownie, could not walk. Every time he took a step, he
would cry in pain and sit down. Brownie did not want to move from his kennel. Even when
Karen threw a ball at him, he did not fetch it. Karen was worried. She knew that something
was wrong with her dog. She told her father and they took Brownie to the veterinarian.
The veterinarian carefully examined Brownie. He found that Brownie had a cut at the
bottom of his paw. He gave Browie an injection and some ointment to apply.
When they arrive home, Karen’s father carefully put Brownie in his kennel. Karen gave
Brownie his favourite tinned foof but he did not eat. So, she sat next to him, patted his
head and told him to rest. Then, she went for her sports practice.
When Karen came home later that evening, she had a surprise. Brownie was up and
running. He was a happy dog again. It was all thanks to the veterinarian and his medicine.
